Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
I just wanted to wish all the Canadian INs a Happy Thanksgiving!
Question: Do you celebrate Thanksgiving where you are now?
We try to celebrate here, but it is a little difficult to get all of the necessary ingredients for the meal! Turkeys are few and far between, and ovens are only in about 1/4 of the apartments! We make it work though. How do you celebrate?
Re: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I did the whole shebang last night. It's pretty easy to get stuff here, but I was not thrilled to pay 40gbp for a 5 kg turkey. I find that outrageous.
But apparently turkeys can only be found in stores at Christmas, and some places for American Thanksgiving.
I must say it was quite a success, but I'm sad that there isn't any pumpkin pie left over.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadian ladies!
I have celebrated Thanksgiving here, but it really just depends on how hot it is if I feel like cooking a turkey and having the oven on all day! I celebrate in November, so you can usually start to find turkeys in Nov/Dec. DH makes an awesome pumpkin pie!
Happy Thanksgiving!
In Vietnam we used to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with the Consulate and Chamber of Commence, H even organised it one year.
Since being in France, we've only celebrated it last year when my mom was here. Impossible to find turkey before xmas, so we did two chickens instead.
This year I didn't do anything. H just came home yesterday and I wasn't motivated to cook.
Happy Thanksgiving!
When I was living in the US, I would try to do something for Canadian Thanksgiving - it worked well since I usually had Columbus day off so would have time to cook. However, since being in London, we just do US Thanksgiving - it means more to DH than to me and it's too much for me to try to do both.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Just a reminder to the oldies and a blip for the newbies at what a moron I am...
My first year in the UK I was staying with about 4 flatmates - and I casually asked them what they were doing for Thanksgiving this year. They said that they weren't doing anything. I was really surprised, as it's normally such a family thing and they were all British with family near by. They told me that they don't celebrate Thanksgiving.
I asked them if it was because they were Jewish.
Yep. Social skills / brain fail.
Chronically hilarious - you'll split your stitches!
I wrote a book! Bucket list CHECK!
