I'm in a wedding mood this October, and I thought it'd be fun to do this poll. Let's see what the most popular length of veil was.
Considering the longest part of your veil (drop
veils, for example, can be much longer in the back), what length of
veil are you wearing? I've provided some pictures to assist you with
the length definitions.
After you've answered the length poll,
you can tell us more about your veil--drop veil? will you wear a
blusher? two tiered? mantilla? ethnic? family heirloom? etc.
no veil
poof/accent
veil--while technically not a veil (since it's not veiling the face)
accent "veils" are made out of veil material. This doesn't really cover the face, and is an accent of tulle or
another netting or sheer fabric. It is usually held by a hair comb or
alligator clip.

short or birdcage/russian netting (covering the part of the face, or to the chin)

bouffant/flyaway/shoulder length veil--usually just above the shoulder, to the shoulder or just below the shoulder

elbow length--usually just above the elbow, to the elbow or just below the elbow

bouquet
length--between elbow and fingertip (hitting around the forearm). As
the name suggests, it hits where your bouquet sits.

fingertip--usually to the fingertips or wrists

waltz/ballet
length--falls somewhere beyond the fingertips. The length could fall
just behind the knees or as long as to the ankles

Floor,
Sweep or Chapel veil--to the floor, or enough to cover a sweep train. The veil to the left looks like a cathedral, but remember there is no
head on this mannequin.

Re: WR: veil poll!
This is fun and makes me want to have my wedding all over again. Posting a pic of my veil
ewm1023: what a pretty veil! It's the perfect example of a bouquet length, too! I found it tricky finding pictures of a bouquet length veil. So if anyone is wondering still, look above to the PP!
Mine was also bouquet length. It was an oval shaped drop veil, making it shorter in the front (just below the elbows) and longer in the back (almost fingertip). It's an heirloom veil worn by Matt's nan and his mum too. After the ceremony, I pinned it under my hair so it was even longer (probably a waltz length). But worn properly (as a drop veil) it's definitely bouquet length.

Mine was a really simple fingertip veil. I had always thought I wanted a lace, mantilla style veil until I tried one on with my dress and having lace on both the dress and the veil was a bit too much for me, so I went super simple.
I requested elbow length, but it ended up being bouquet length. I don't know if it's because I'm short or if he screwed it up. At that point, I didn't care. My dress maker gave it to me for free, so I took it. lol

This. I also wanted a single tier but ended up with two tier cuz it was the right price and simple pearl decorations and edging I liked. Was not sure I was going to wear it over my face but thought that day I would as that is more old fashioned. We had a vintage/antique wedding.
Picture below is my somethings old - hankerchief was great grandmothers, ring on finger near thumb was great grand parents wedding ring I tied to a ribbon on my bouquet, antigue wedding dress.
I had bouquet length... sorry for the large pic, but I've discovered I can copy and paste photos from FB which avoids having to use tinypic's captchas, but I don't know how to reduce the size in Chrome.
I didn't wear one, but i had a headband with a bow that matched the bows on my shoes!
I think mine could pass for either an elbow length or bouquet length...I voted for bouquet length, but who knows what it actually is lol. I didn't plan to wear a veil but my Dad thought I 'needed' one, so it was a last minute thing.
I had a tulle birdcage veil with feather fascinator that I loved!

Is it sad I had no idea what "length" mine was until I went a looked at photos?
But I think its bouquet length. Mine was a single piece with no blusher. and I think I'm weird because I put it pretty far back on my head - I didn't want it to be on the top of it because it looked weird on me that way.
In the limo after the ceremony to go get pictures done DH ended up sitting on it and it pulled it further down on my head so in some of the photos its really super low. haha. I thought about asking someone to fix it but was concerned it would end up looking even worse.

I didn't have a veil--just some decorative pins (pearls and crystal-like beads) placed in my 'do. I also had to copy and paste this from facebook, so sorry for the size!
