It's October. How are those New Year's Resolutions coming along?
What were they?
If you slacked off, when did it happen and do you intend to have the same goals for next year?
If you're still going strong, go you!
Re: NYR- check-in!
What were they? I had a lot. I don't think any of them made it, lol.
#1) Read 50 books.
#2) Get back to the size I was when I graduated HS.
#3) Take a picture a day.
#4) Quit cussing.
If you slacked off, when did it happen and do you intend to have the same goals for next year?
I think I'm somewhere around 15-20 books. I just got busy with other things and my "me time" which is when I read had to be devoted to other things. I don't think I'll make that one, for sure. Next year I probably will just say I want to 'read more' because with two newborns and a toddler... I think I'll choose to sleep when I can.
I'm definitely not going to make #2. I was doing pretty good (lost 2 sizes with 2 more to go) before I got pregnant. It's frowned upon to diet while pregnant.
The whole picture a day thing? Well, I probably do take them. I quit posting them on FB in March or so, haha. They're not always the best, and sometimes I use my cell phone but oh well.
And finally, I think that I am doing much better with #4. Now that N tries to repeat everything, it's just in time.
Our crazy, wonderful life
My fun NYR was to read 75 books in 2011, I'm on 60something - according to good reads I am 5 books ahead of schedule, probably because I read a series of 4 last week that I could not put down.
Weight loss has always been a back of my mind NYR, and while I said I wasn't going to make it one this year, I am down 25 pounds so perhaps I found a habit that worked for me. Not making it my NYR.
I didn't really "formalize" any NYR but I had goals (some similar to yours...)
1. I wanted to read a book a month. Not too hard, but the year before I read exactly zero books and I got a Kindle for Christmas, blah blah.
2. Stop cursing
I think I have exceeded 12 books - I'd need my kindle to count for sure but I've either exceeded or am really close. I should be able to do this.
I made a deal with DH that I had to put $1 into a jar every time I cursed in front of Jane. Let's just say that had I really done that, we'd have her College paid off
Thing is, I don't even really curse a lot in conversation, but Jane is just always there - like when you drop a pint of blueberries on the floor or stub your toe.....all curse-worthy moments. Sigh. Work in progress.
1. Make my bed every day. I felt like it would be a good example and the right thing to do. It's the one house chore I slack terribly on. Let's just say I failed miserably at this.
2. Swearing in front of Natalie. I'm getting a lot better since she once repeated "Oh shiit!" but I'm not at 100% yet.
3. Eat better and exercise more. I've totally done that and although my vacationing set me back weight-loss wise, I felt great for a while there. I'm definitely going straight back to Jazzercise and my diet when I'm ready after baby #2.
Zac says something that sounds like "I sh*t" ... I've always thought it was "I sit" because he says it a lot when climbing on the chair or the couch, but yesterday he was saying it and I was looking at DH like ... in relation to whatever challenging thing he was doing at the moment that wasn't involving a chair or sitting, "I hope he's not saying what it sounds like he's saying in the right context."
:-/
Both of us could work on our language around the little guy.
I think I wanted to have a baby... check! and lose the baby weight...check!
But then I gained 5 pounds back.
I need to get on the weight loss train with you Trickey!
I'll give you a free ticket to ride.
