How was everyone's weekend?
Ours was so busy and so fast.
Saturday: GTG, helping w/a friend's STD photos, apple picking, dinner w/little sister who is home from college.
Sunday: breakfast at my mothers, open house (and we found our future house, but we can't buy it because our house hasn't sold and I might just die if someone else buys it before we can), lunch with the IL's, football at my father's, followed by a concert with a girlfriend.
Re: Happy Monday
Wow - Lady E that sounds like a crazy weekend! Keeping my fingers crossed for you on the housing situation!
We had a decent weekend - not too busy which was nice. We went to the Big Apple on Saturday which was awesome - sad we couldn't go apple picking but got a nice bag of apples and some other goodies so I think I'll be making an apple crisp this weekend. Speaking of apple crisp - I had their apple crisp ice cream...sooo good! Yesterday we went and hung out with FIL and uncle-in-law before they went to the Patriots game. The rest of the day/night was just hanging out and relaxing at home.
Oh, LadyE, fingers crossed for you on both selling the old and getting the new house! And it sounds like you had a crazy busy weekend--and you guys say I have a lot going on
Friday we took our friends who were visiting to open gym volleyball (at their request) and went to Cabot's for ice cream afterwards.
Saturday was the GTG (so much fun!), then we took the same friends to the Cranberry Festival. It was so warm out, I loved it! Afterwards we dropped them off at the airport and just relaxed for the rest of the night.
Sunday we slept in (felt sooooo good), did some yard work, finished up last year's taxes, and did other errands.
Ooh, I hope it works out for you, LadyE!
Friday, my office closed at 3, so a bunch of us headed over to Daedalus in Harvard Square to have some drinks. So many drinks. Then, my friend and I went to John Harvard's to wait for her husband to pick her up, so we had a couple more. It was...not pretty. I was passed out in bed by 8:30.
Saturday, my mom was going to come up for the day, but she wasn't feeling so hot still, so I slept in. Then we took the dog for a walk to get some breakfast/coffee, and relaxed the rest of the day. My husband somehow talked me into going to Cambridge Common for dinner, where I ended up having more beer than I planned. (Yeah. I don't want to see beer for a while.)
Yesterday, he watched football all day, while I watched some dvds/read an entire book. Today, he's at work, so I'm going to go to the grocery store, and clean the apartment a bit. We got a new vacuum the other day, so I'm anxious to try it out. And yes, I am that big of a nerd, heh.
You just have a lot of house guests. Which isn't a surprise, considering you prepare vegan meals for them and all.
Good weekend!
Saturday: GTG (so much fun meeting you guys, and I talked Ginger's ear off at Stellabella Toys), shopping, working around the house (it's finally looking decent)
Sunday: Headed up to NH for a friend to do a photo shoot with us. The first teaser pic is adorable, so it's worth the mass of mosquito bites I currently have. Had a great dinner at a hole in the wall on the way home. And DD was a perfect angel there--bonus!
GL LadyE! I hope this is The House for you!
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

LOL! That was a one-time thing and thank goodness it was the only meal I had to make for them during their short visit!
I hope your house sells really soon!
I, too, think I have found our perfect house, but it's out of our budget plus DH just isn't on the "okay, let's stay" boat yet. But it has the perfect layout, and these hardwood floors to die for!
Oh well.
We had a crazy Saturday- DS had swim and then we had a 1st birthday party to go to, then I put him to bed and ran out to my girlfriend's birthday party. Luckily, it was at a bar so they had the football game on and we WON. *shakes booty*
I was seriously the ONLY Arkansas fan in the bar.
Yesterday DS was possessed so we stayed in. I tried getting some pix of my foster dog, worked on his bio, and put together some more ideas for DS's birthday party.
I'm working today, but the government agencies and the law firms are closed so it should be a pretty low key day. Plus Guinness has a vet appointment at lunch so we'll see how that goes.
Hahaha!
So does the house we want! It was built in 1919 and has ALL of the original hardwoods and woodwork. It is amazing. And it's in a town we were only kind of considering (aka in our dreams because it's so expensive) but we can actually afford the house because it needs a lot of cosmetic work (but nothing structurally and the big $$ things are done- boiler, roof, etc, it just has a lot of wood paneling and other uglies).
LOL at BabyBooster being possessed.
Lady E- I have my fingers crossed that you sell the house quickly and get your dream house.
I had an awesome weekend and it was so hard to leave yesterday. I am really missing DH and this long distance thing is starting to really wear on both of us.
Friday- I had an interview for a job I really want (so if you have any job juju that you could spare, I would love it). I feel like it went really well and will hopefully know by the end of the week. Then I took the dog for a nice long walk around Worcester and had an awesome lunch. DH and I went out to happy hour then the cigar bar to watch the Phillies
I had pumpkin ale with a cinnamon sugar rim. It was heaven.
Saturday- we went to Salem, MA. Such a cute city and there was some kind of bizzare bazaar going on. A lot of adults in costume, which was a little strange to me. I did really enjoy walking around there. Saturday night we went to dinner with one of DH's cw to Not Your Average Joes, which was good.
Sunday- we went to Wachusett Mountain with the dog, who felt the need to poo on the summit of the mountain. Oh and I was the genius who wore ballet flats there, so we just did a little walking then went to lunch. I left at about 2:30 to drive back to PA. This time was the first time I actually cried pulling away. Doug (the dog) and I stopped at my parents' house on the way home for dinner and then just went to bed.
Ohh nice. Our condo is the only one in the building with the original HWF from the 1800s when the building was built. They could only salvage what was in the main living areas/kitchen. All the other units have the bamboo stuff and ours were soooooo much prettier.
They don't have real HWF here because of the humidty levels, I hear. But some of the "fake" stuff I see in houses is well made (I see some soft, awful fake stuff too though!)
Here's wishing that we all get our dreams this year.....dream houses, dream jobs!
I had tried talking DH into taking off on Friday, but he wouldn't call in sick on the day after his birthday, cause it looks bad. And guess what, he came home early, Sick!.....and sick all weekend, and even today, although he's at work and won't leave early (he's a workaholic).
Saturday, DH was sick, so I made sure he was taken care of, the headed out to enjoy the beautiful weather. I went to an Arts/Craft festival in North Sciuate, RI?there was a ton of booths, and I really wished DH was with me?.also wished I hadn?t worn jeans and boots, cause it was quite toasty. Saturday night I was a little antsy and bored, but DH was sick and asleep.
Sunday, DH is still sick, and I also knew he would be watching football all day. So I headed down to the Wrenthem outlets in the afternoon. They were so busy, that traffic was backed up on 495! Got lucky and found a parking spot. Did the most damage at the Williams Sonoma outlet store?they had a Le Creuset item that I really wanted/needed, 30% off for the weekend, plus an extra 15% for having my AAA card, yes please! I almost called DH for permission, then decided to go with the ?just do it, then ask for forgiveness? method.
Got my first pair of Lucky jeans for $20, and a few Van Heusen shirts for DH. Overall a good day!
Wait a minute.. what happened to this long weekend? You mean to tell me I have to go to work tomorrow? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Saturday was fun. I enjoyed the GTG, then SO and I walked around a bit and went to Stella for dinner. Yummm
Sunday, tried to go to Zumba but the studio was closed... grrrr. Walked over to SOWA, then came home and did a little painting before heading over to Harvard Square to watch a friend dance in the Jose Matteo Ballet. It was beautiful!
Today I have spent the whole day working on my presentation for a workshop I'm leading in Kentucky in two weeks. My notes are do by the end of the week, and I'm so done with fighting with Microsoft, I-photo and Finale. I did get out for a quick break to walk down to flour to grab some chocolate chip cookies for dessert tonight. : )
Back to work tomorrow.
the boyfriend and i took my father to newport for the day (with our little one as well) and hung around there for awhile.
if anyone else has been there where in the world do you eat!? this is our second time and the place we ate at was so so and the time before that was a big bomb as well.
other than that i spent saturday and sunday morning with my cousin and her son. it was great!
