Hi Everyone! Happy Columbus Day! I'm working today - boo. I hope some of you are off.
How was your weekend? What's in store for this week?
We had a nice weekend...we had company yesterday for brunch and pumpkin picking. It was nice, but just a little too hot for the farm. We had a really nice time though, and I'm tired today!!! So basically the whole weekend was spent preparing and baking. It was so nice out, and I went for a few walks to enjoy the weather.
This week, hubby is on a business trip. I am looking forward to having the TV all to myself...hehe. He gets home Friday and then we'll have dinner with the IL's.
Have a good day everyone!!
Re: Weekend Recap
Hi ladies!
I took the day off "sick" (more like a mental and physical recharge) so I'm home trying to relax.
Friday we ended up staying in, no one came over, and went to bed at a reasonable hour. I went grocery shopping to prepare for my brothers +families to come over Saturday too.
Saturday am I started the spaghetti and meatballs recipe which my mom made for my dad and bro from Indy every year for their b-day. Yes only once a year each b/c it takes like 5 hrs to make! So that's what I spent Saturday am doing, made a salad and straightened up until 2ish, then sat outside reading until they came over around 4pm. We had a great visit, ate and then I crashed on the couch watching the Flyers game by like 8:30, then went to bed at 9:30 and slept until 9:15 Sunday! I was wiiiiped out!
Sunday I did some things around the house and tried to relax, waiting for my bro from Indy to have something solid on their schedule so I could try to join, but it didn't work out, so I went to DH's hockey game and went out with a group of the guys and one other hockey wife.
Great weekend, much busier than I planned and next weekend will be packed too, so that's why I insisted I take off today :-) Hope you ladies have a great start to your week!
April 2010 Siggy Challenge: Next Vacation Destination
I'm back!
First, thank you very much ladies for your birthday wishes on here and on Facebook. I feel so blessed you have you gals in my life!!!
Well, I left Wednesday afternoon to go to my convention. I stopped out to have dinner with my grandparents when I got into Omaha, then my friend Chels was in Omaha that night, so she stayed at the hotel with me. Some drinks, snacks and a hot tub! : )
Thursday I had my class during the day, then my niece's ballet class, then dinner for my Grandma's birthday at a brewery. That night I went to bed fairly early.
Friday I had class in the morning, then shopping with my sister (Gap has the BEST skinny jeans ever...get them...Always Skinny). That night us three sisters went out for sushi and drinks, then came back to my sister's place to hang and watch movies.
Saturday we all went to the hotel. It was awesome! We all had a great time and the Nebraska game was unbelievable!!! Yesterday I seriously just laid around and napped, and I still feel exhausted! I am skipping volleyball tonight for relaxation and the Lions game!
THE BEARS ARE GOING DOWN! Haha....hopefully. : )
Our weekend was good! My pups are all better now, thank God! Saturday was my first Saturday off in a long time. We went to my cousin's little girl's birthday party. Then went to the in-laws. Hubby had to get up on their roof with the leaf blower to clean the gutters out. He did their whole yard too.
Sunday morning we bought pumpkins
We shopped a few stores for items I needed for projects. Then we stopped by grandma's house (which is now my MIL's house) to pick up the steam trunk I wanted. However, it didn't fit in our car, so they are going to bring it out to us someday this week.
Today on facebook, one of my good friends/bridesmaid announced that she is pregnant. I am happy for her, but sad at the same time. My next cycle (which is this month) is when I wanted to try for a baby, but I know we probably won't end up trying. I also think she is jumping the gun a little bit because she only announced that her appt is Nov 2nd to confirm that she is pregnant. But that's how she is, she can't keep anything secret.
We had a good weekend.
Friday night we watched the Cards win!!
Sorry Lisa, at least it was a very good game though.
Saturday we slept in and I ended up making breakfast (H usually does this) since he was still sleeping at 9:30. Then he ran some errands while I made cheesecake and did laundry. In the afternoon, DH washed my car and detailed both vehicles. We finally got to have date night which was nice.
Sunday we got up early and drove to my parents so my dad could look at my car (stupid radiator leak) and then had lunch with dad and sister. Then we spent the afternoon/evening with DH's extended family for the annuall hayride. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun.
Today I feel like I'm getting sick and have a stupid sunburn from the hayride. Plus I have to go to Sams after work to have them take the nail out of my tire and repair/replace it.
I have today off! Yay! I haven't had Columbus Day off in a VERY long time. Friday we didn't do very much, stayed in and watched TV.
Saturday we went on a Food tour around Boston with a friend of mine that runs a food tour company. It was a lot of fun!
Sunday I ran my half marathon. I didn't PR and I didn't get to 2 hours, but I finished and that's all that matters!
Today I haven't been doing much. My legs and hips are pretty sore. I've been baking and cooking and cleaning. The only thing I have to do tonight is karate. and i'm SUPER nervous because I am testing

@Mandah: that food tour sounds awesome!
We went to a baby shower for triplets this weekend, it was so much fun! The mother is at week 29, and she is SO HUGE!!! I mean, like considerably bigger than my friend that is due yesterday :P But she's in good spirits and can still move around. It is amazing how many things you have to special order for triplets - her 3-baby stroller has a sterring wheel! Definitely a learning experience, and definitely makes me hope for only one baby at a time :P

Weekend was beautiful! We went up to my sister & BIL's house in northern Michigan and the weather was just amazing. Too hot for October, but still amazing!
As were the colors!! We spent the day in Petoskey and bummed around Bay Harbor and Boyne just enjoying the day.
I had to work today too, but, I actually had a half day vacation scheduled. I was able to go to the gym, get my grocery shopping done and even bought 2 cute shirts at Willow Tree on the way home.
Heading next door to watch the Lions MNF game in the NDN's man cave...DH already over there.
Auditors are in this week so I'm sure it'll be busy, one branch visit scheduled then the weekend coming we have Amanda. DH and our friend Sean are taking Amanda, her BFF and Sean's older DD haunted housing. Since I don't do haunted houses I'll keep his younger DD since she's still small and afraid of everything and their mom (one of my BFFs) works midnights.
Friday night H and I went to a local festival. And I FINALLY got a Halloween decoration that he has been promising to make since we first saw it at this festival 4 years ago!
Saturday I went shopping with my mom. Though we only made it to one store...after spending 3 hours in the fabric store, we were too tired to go anywhere else, lol.
Sunday was my niece's first birthday. She is so stinkin' cute! Everytime I see her I wonder how the heck my brother and SIL made such a cute baby, lol. And such a happy baby at that...those 2 tend to have such sour attitudes.
This week I am hoping to get my sewing room totally orgaized so I can get started on some of the projects that I've been wanting to make. And this weekend so far we have a whole bunch of nothing planned! And I hope to keep it that way! Though I think DH wants to go car shopping.
