I didn't like the Ted storyline in this episode. It was super weird to me, but I did think it was funny when they had the group decide some of their past arguments.
Loved the Friday Night Lights reference (and Marshall pointing out to skip season 2, lol). I also enjoyed the Ewok song playing at the party at Marshall's office. My brother used to play that song annoyingly throughout our childhood and it was funny to me that I caught it.
Thoughts on Robin and Kevin? Was she seeing him for therapy on a regular basis or was it just for the court mandated amount of time? I was confused about that.
Re: HIMYM 10/10
This felt like a filler episode.
Marshall's storyline was O.K. I'm curious as to where they're going with the "And as we now know, they did [save the environment] statement. I usually find Marshall the most interesting and "real" of the bunch.
Ted's was just weird. I'm getting bored with Barney and Nora because I feel like they're going nowhere with it. Robin dating her therapist is just freaky.
I think she had seen him twice, because they said something about her being a pt of his for two hours.
I agree it seemed to be a filler episode
Robin was seeing him because it was court mandated. That was in the last episode. I totally think it's weird and creepy she is dating him.
DH noticed the Ewok song. I don't like Star Wars.
my read shelf:
Whatever happened to the guy she kept running into last season (clothing store & out at a club) that Ted narrated, "but more on him later."
Have we seen him again?
Michael Trucco is the actor. He's on the show Fairly Legal now, so it's kind of a toss-up as to whether he'll be back or not as a love interest for Robin. I've read conflicting information, including that Kal Penn was only brought in as a replacement for him, but who knows what's true.
I would hope that the writers wouldn't paint themselves into a corner ("more on that later") without pre-recording his future appearances or at least being reasonably sure that he could come back for a few more episodes. But who knows.
I actually like Robin & the therapist together. For some reason, I think it works.
I'm over Barney & Nora. Barney tries to find a reason to break up with her because he's scared? Snoozefest.
Ted's field trip thing was dumb.
Obviously they're building up to some sort of climax with Marshall & the law firm. Maybe he'll make partner? I don't know.
Clearly I'm in the minority, but I love this season. I think it's funny and different. As for the episodes being "filler" episodes, I'm okay with that. If every episode was about Ted's quest for the perfect woman, I would lose my mind. I think it's okay to have some episodes that don't focus on that.
I like Robin and the therapist together. I don't find it weird, since she only saw him twice. It would be weird if they were dating and she kept seeing him as a therapist, but this scenario doesn't bug me.
My main complaint is I think they've kind of turned Barney into a caricature of himself. He's always been over the top, but this season is just a little too much. I don't see how they're going to get him to a place where he's ready to get married in less than a year. But it'll be interesting to see them try.
And the ducky tie is still funny.
Snow!

I agree with all of this and the person above who said the therapist thing didn't bother her.
I agree with both of you. I thought I was tired of the storylines with Ted looking for his wife, but this week showed us that, without that storyline, Ted has nothing! Time to find Ted a date, so he can spend the whole episode worrying if she is the one.
What, I missed Kal Penn coming in HIMYM? This is not fair; I don?t know how I am going to get this episode. But I am so disappointed with this show now, they have been dragging the show for too long (Ted in real life would be a loser if he still can?t settle down). I also don?t like Barney and Nora thingy; it should be Barney and Robin.
