Homeland 10/9 - spoilers

Wow. I am glued to this show every minute, it's so captivating. Of course, there was no camera in the garage. They need to get on that! haha. That prayer scene gave me chills, very powerful. It gave new meaning to his question at dinner "we say grace now?" Clearly, his religious beliefs have changed. Do you think his allegiance has as well? The scenes with him hanging out in the corner all day really hurt my heart. I love how I'm double and triple guessing everything.

Re: Homeland 10/9 - spoilers

  • I didn't read your post because we haven't watched it yet.... but we will tonight so I will be back! Just wanted to say that we instantly loved this show. This is good television!! Homeland and Dexter last week made me delete about 7 shows on my DVR because I realized what a waste of time they are. Just not good enough.
  • Only 2 episodes in and I am seriously hooked on this show.  The actors and acting have been top notch.  The plot, all the nuances, twists, have been buzzing in my mind.  I think Brody's and Carrie's characters are so well thought out and I love how they both walk a mental tightrope, for different reasons.  I am scared for Ms. Reed, "2 E's" since she's not long for this world.

  • I agree with what everyone has said. We were hooked on this show after episode one. It's so well thought out and definitley leaving me triple quessing everything. Until the prayer scene, I really thought maybe Carrie was just wrong and paranoid. You can't expect a guy to be a POW for 8 years and no do things like twitch and sit in corners for hours.
  • Okay, we watched it. WOW.

What's amazing for me is that at this point I am already pretty invested in Carrie and Brody... so I am torn because I want Carrie to be right and not ruin her career and make a fool of herself. But I also want Brody to be innocent and not ruin... who knows what!

Ok, I know I was late watching and many people watch shows on DVR... but this aired 24 hours ago. Why not more responses? People may be missing out! Smile

  • Such a great show!  I was hooked from episode one... seriously, it's the best new drama in a while - like in three seasons.

At first I wasn't sure if he was subconsciously brainwashed a la Manchurian Candidate or if he was a willing participant.  I'm still not sure.  I'm hoping he just picked up Islam as a means of coping with his time as a prisoner... lol

I agree totally, it's such a fantastic show. I thought the flashback made it pretty clear that Islam was his saving grace, but his actions afterwards are what confuses me. He told Mike beforehand that he would never take orders from the US government again, then after his prayer ritual--he dressed out and smiled for the cameras and 'played the hero card' like Saul said he would if in fact, he was in on this. What a compelling, captivating, clever show--I literally don't know what to think. At any rate, I'm so happy that they took a chance with it on the US market. I guess it was originally an Israeli series?

Agreed on all counts! I cringe in the scenes with Reed, I'm just waiting for something awful to happen to her. The tension and nuance in pretty much every scene is off the charts--amazingly written, acted and thought out.
