would it be terrible to have warm beige walls in our kitchen?
Our kitchen is mostly done, we had originally planned on painting it orange like it originally was, but now that seems like it might be a bit much
Now, I'm thinking warm beige might be nice, but is that too boring? We are still getting tile floors installed and they are pretty plain, but we will also have a tile backsplash which it yet TBD but will probably be some kind of mosaic w/ multple colors in it.

Huh, that pic of your kitchen makes the walls look pink, not orange.....
I don't know. Beige is ok and pretty "safe". Our bedroom is a beige-y color and while its perfectly fine, sometimes I wish we had done a little something more adventurous.
My favorite color for kitchens is yellow. Yellow kitchens make me happy!

The floor is pretty plain jane, off white/pale beige.
I'm thinking walls shoudl be warm cafe lait beige

My concern w/ a "warm beige" is that it would look too much like foundation on the walls- but that's a thing I have.
I know that the grayer shades are pretty trendy, but I like grayish taupes w/ white trim in kitchens.
I also tend to like cooler rather than warmer neutrals, because I think they look cleaner, if that makes sense.
No, because your cabinets look warm and traditional to me- in both color and style. The counters look to be fairly neutral- like a mix of both warm and cool colors, the appliances are cool since they are stainless and it sounds like the floors are relatively neutral, so I think having a coolish color (I don't think of greige or a gray-ish taupe as being overly cold)on the walls won't make it too cold overall- KWIM? Additionally your windows are very traditional in style- w/ the pane detail, so I think that makes it pretty hard to get into industrial style territory.
I don't know what the new layout of your kitchen is going to be like but how much open exposed wall space are you going to have?
Do you have any counter top accessories or appliances that have a "color" or are they all stainless? Is there any other color that should be taken into consideration?
There is one very open wall.
We haven't figured out the back splash yet. There's alot going on w/ the granite - there are many shades in there. My thought was that if kept the walls neutral (as opposed to the original plan of orange) we can still get accessory pieces and window treatments w/ colors in them. But once we've got the orange walls, everything will need to be orange/golds, etc.
I don't see a problem w/ the color you're referring to - a good bit of our new house is painted that color, including the kitchen, and repainting the kitchen to something different would have required repainting a LOT of the house, and b/c we could live w/ it, we left it. It's not the first I'd choose, but it works just fine and allows us a lot of flexibility in the accessories/window treatments (which I STILL haven't figured out for the kitchen... sigh.).
It's kinda opposite ends of the spectrum - the orange you currently have is very bold, but limiting in terms of decor; the beige is very safe, but very open in terms of decor. Your call which you prefer! I LOVE your new cabinets, btw!

I think a warm beige would be fine, I would just get some really pretty curtains and wall art, esp since you dont know what you want to do with the backsplash yet. You can always paint again later if you think it's too "blah."
Ditto.... if you go plain on the walls then you can decorate in other ways (curtains, etc). I would go with the beige and you can always repaint if you hate it later.

I agree that would beige would be fine and you can decorate with curtains, wall accents, art, etc. I personally think grey wouldn't look good with the color cabinets you have but I do also like the burnt orange color.
