Good Morning!

Happy Tuesday!

I had to be at work before 7:30 today as the President of our company was up to tour through.  I didn't end up having to talk much, so that was nice.

Happy belated Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians.  This was the first year in as long as I can remember that we didn't go to at least 1 turkey dinner.  It was sort of weird.  I spent most of yesterday ripping out a garden in the middle of our backyard.  I had Chloe out on a leash and she was just pleased as punch.

Now, the countdown is on until Friday morning.  We go for our first U/S then (NT scan) and I'm nervous and excited.

How is everyone today?

Re: Good Morning!

  • DH had to catch a train to Brussels at a godawful hour this morning, and I couldn't really get back to sleep, so I'm looking forward to the end of the day.  Still some tv to catch up on from this weekend, so that will be the plan tonight.  Oh, the exciting life we lead ...

  • Good morning! I just getting my butt together to head out the door to the doctor to get my thumb checked out. It's hurting less today, but I still can't grab anything with my right hand or have any pressure put on it. This makes typing extra weird, and I'm only using 3 fingers on my right hand...

Thanksgiving weekend was great though! We sat around the fire outside (something we've never done at the cottage) with the new copper pit, played Sequence (I won both games), and made my Mum laugh so hard that she cried, and with 3 more of us following suit.

All in all, a great Thanksgiving.

Ooh! And we made pumpkin angel food cake with salted caramel glaze... holy moly was it amazing! I'll try and post about it on the blog this week.

  • Raynes - we will all be excited to hear how the u/s goes.

Kaesha - good luck at your appt, hope your thumb turns out ok.

I am trying to stay focused since I have a busy day of meetings, confernce calls, and lunch with friends.  However easier said then done when I'm not motivated at all. I would much rather be home getting things done there.

Not much on the agenda for me today, another typical day.

    Have a great day ladies.

  • Good Morning!

Yesterday was columbus day for us and Jordan was out school. I took the day off of work and Dh was off. We took the kids to the Mississippi State fair. We had so much fun but we are all pretty tired today. I am looking forward to an earliy night.

I was worried it would be really busy at work today but I got in and nothing really. I am glad I need an easy day.

  • Kaesha- Hope your thumb heals soon.

Raynes - Keep us posted on your u/s.

Today is my long day at school and work. My boss is out for jury duty today so at least I have the office to myself. Other than that nothing too exciting going on here for me.

On a side note, my group partner for my senior design is being childish again. Every time he exchanges files with me he sends them in PDF format so I always have to do extra work every time I have to format something.

  • raynes - have a great u/s! kaesha - I hope your thumb is feeling better soon.

We watched football and baseball last night. Neither game went the way we hoped. I stayed up late watching the end of the football game only to be disappointed and am now paying for it today. Oh well.

Tonight we don't have much planned. Kyle hurt his back at work on Sunday so he's been taking it pretty slow. He says he's doing better today, although still not 100%. The two of us are just a mess right now.

  • I'm tired. I think for the next 18 years, I'm going to just be tired. I can't stand this. Jackson seems to have started teething. I really hope he feels better soon. I've been avoiding the Tylenol for him, because I'm not sure how long this will last, and I don't want to keep pumping him full of medicine.

My weekend alone was miserable as well, thanks to mr. cranky pants. I was so happy to have DH home on Sunday. It gave me just enough energy for Monday by myself, too.

Today seems to be filled with stupid people. I'm scared I might yell at a student worker just because I don't have the patience. A college student should know that 330-500 is an hour and a half. I'm so tempted to be like..GET OUT! woosah.

  • Good morning, all. Last night we spent our first night in our new king bed and it's official: it's awesome. Other than that, I came home yesterday to find that Josh had done all the laundry and made dinner, which was also awesome. So last night was spent getting smaller things done, relaxing and reading.

Today it seems like it'll be quiet at work, then it's a gym night.

  • Good morning girls! I'm off today with DH (that rarely ever happens!) so we're going to be running some errands and getting the outside of our house decorated for fall. We've also got a few contractors coming by today to give us quotes for getting our entire downstairs painted because we've accepted the fact that no matter how much we talk about knocking it out ourselves, we're never going to do it. Cathedral ceilings are a bit intimidating so we're sucking it up and hiring this job out. I'm a little afraid of sticker shock!

  • raynes - super excited for your first u/s!

snoopy - *hugs* If there's anything I can do to help you let off steam, you know how to find me.

I also didn't have a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving this year. Since we had the baptism on Saturday and saw everyone then, we decided to spend the rest of the weekend by ourselves. It was nice.

Today we're going back to the mall to pick up the suit that V bought for work. He's starting next Monday so we're trying to pack in as much quality family time as possible this week. I'm sad that he won't be around during the days anymore but very excited for this new opportunity. He really needed something new and fresh, away from academia.

  • Good morning, ladies.

We had a fantastic dinner at a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant for my daughter's 21st birthday last night.  I really enjoy the teppan table cooking - steak and shrimp make me happy.  But - we may or may not have had a few too many shots after dinner when we met up with friends.  I need a nap, and I have to sit in class all day.  It's going to be rough.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  • Good morning ladies. I'm only here for a little bit then off to train the new guy. So far so good. He seems to be a good fit and I'm hoping he will pick things up pretty quickly so I can get back to my stuff. Hope everyone has a great day today.

  • I've been up since 3am with a sick husband and a sick cat. I'm exhausted and to top it off, I don't think I got all the shampoo out of my hair and didn't realize it until it was too late. I've loved my new hair cut until today...I wish I had long hair so I can pull it up.

  • After getting home from work this morning I decided to go walking instead of being lazy at home. Fourth day of training for me, half marathon here I come!

  • Today was a 7-3 shift for me.  I really despise getting up that early (unless it's to go running).  Work was just okay.

After work I hit the gym to elliptical and bike.  Anything but run.  I had a bit of an accident in our driveway last night and now my knee and shin are pretty bruised up.  We didn't have any outside lights on and I tripped on planter.  Busted it in half!  Hopefully I'll be less sore tomorrow and able to at least try and run.

  • Evening!

Today was good...I ran my first curriculum meetings as Teacher Leader and they went great.  Then I had our monthly Teacher Leader meeting this afternoon.  It meant I was out of my classroom all day, which is always tough, but it all went really well.

Then I came home and got in a great 6 mile run.  Then Ed brought home my new Keurig...SOOO excited!  I can't wait until tomorrow morning!  We also went out to dinner which was tasty.
