I've been making special occasion cakes on the side for a few months and now from sheer word of mouth I'm getting quite a few orders. I'm thinking it's time to head over to vistaprint and get some business cards. A friend of mine suggested rather than just putting "Cakes by Cortney" or something with my name in it that I choose an actual business name, that way if this ever really goes anywhere I would already have a name appropriate for a storefront. She speaks from experience since her mom opened a bakery. I wanted a catchy name that's not too corny but will be remembered. If you ladies wouldn't mind to give me your two cents I'd appreciate it! Here are the names I've narrowed it down to:
The Sweet Boutique, Confection Connection, Cake it or leave it, Flour Power (we live in a pretty hippie area), Simply Sweet Bakery, For Goodness Cakes
What do you guys think?! If it influences your decision at all I don't just make cakes. I've done orders for decorated cookies, cupcakes, and cake pops as well.
Re: Wanna help me pick a business name?
I like the first one: "The Sweet Boutique"
I think it will be easy for customers to remember.

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
I am stealing this answer. Most days I think Kaesha can read my mind via The Nest.
How exciting for you! Hopefully this grows into something big for you!
I really like Cake It or Leave It. It's unique and funny to me.
I also like Sweet Boutique, but agree with some pp that Cake It or Leave It is fun. Our baker was The Jefferson Cakery, so I like cake-y names.
Now I want cake.
I think they are all super fun, but yeah, The Sweet Boutique is totally adorable.
So um, if we get that address list complied, are you sending us all treats
