Tuesday Randoms

Hello everyone. How is everyone doing? Does anyone know what the signs of strep throat are?

Re: Tuesday Randoms

  • I'm having a productive morning: working on marketing materials for a school project, and then prepping for our open house (Sunday), writing script for the Christmas program at church, and figuring out dinner for some friends that are coming by later for play and a haircut for me.

Go sweetpea, go sweetpea, go, go sweetpea!

    ;)

    Yes

I think you need to throw in some cabbage patch to go with your chant.

    Very impressive!!!

  • I start week 4 of C25K tonight!

I previewed it.  Eek!  Getting tougher.  I think my sister is going to ride my bike along side me tonight so I don't have to go it alone.

  • Diana, what is the name of that shoe store in GR again?  Are there any good stores in Muskegon?  I really need new shoes.
  • You Go Girl! - to both D&M and GRSP. :-)

    D&M - Running shoes?

Today I got to work 5 minutes early.

Then I realized I left my laptop at home.

So today I officially got to work 30 minutes late.

    Grr.

    I sure did.  It's how I roll.

Yay for your progress and support on the C25K journey!  Is there something out there similar for ellipticals, I wonder?  My heel can't deal with running, and will rebruise fast.

  • My shins splints will not go away.  No matter how much icing, stretching or healing time they have, the minute I start to run they hurt again.  But when I'm not running, they don't hurt.  They stop hurting almost immidiately after I stop running.  It's so weird.  I'm hoping new shoes will help.

Yep, I think new shoes will help.  Also, Gazelle Sports has running form clinics (that I have never gone to, but have heard good things about).  When you go there for your shoes, you can also ask about the clinics.

A friend of mine had the same problem. She got new shoes at Gazelle Sports - new running shoes that is - and said that it helped the problem.

"My Head" as in Toby or as in your face?  That makes a difference.  Toby's (aka Head) head is bigger than yours (I'm assuming.)

This was misdirected at me since D&MJ is the one doing C25K.  I don't know of any similar program for the elliptical, but basically it just increases your running to walking ratio until you are able to complete a 5K running (thus, "couch to 5k").

You could do something similar by listening to the podcast for C25K and increase the resistance or speed (or both) on the elliptical when it tells you to run.  If your elliptical has some sort of interval program, that would also help you increase your fitness, just as C25K will.

The size of my head.  Toby head is about 2 x as big and I think it would be considered a cake at that point. ;-)

  • Doh. Forgot the top layer of noodles in my lasagna. The best part is the cheese and sauce, right?

    Absolutely.

    And, lasagna sounds delicious.  :-)

I have been craving lasagna for 2 weeks. Plus, this pan will get us 2 or 3 meals which means less cooking. Win - win, if you ask me.
