Traveling/flying

Question.

We are going to be flying to Texas in January.  My MIL said there's no need to take a carseat for Levi because we can rent one when we rent the car.  Is this true?

Re: Traveling/flying

  • yes. I know some  people are weird about this, but I have zero intention of flying car seats after they're out of infant seats (we are going to buy some to leave at my ILs though)
  • Sounds good.

I'm not weird about stuff like that.  I'm honestly not weird about much of anything regarding Levi.  I was just making sure she was correct.

  • We are going to VA in the spring for DH's college reunion and are probably going to do the same thing (rent the car seat with the rental car). I found this on Enterprise's site, I imagine most car rental places are similar, so obviously something you want to research before you go to be sure the rental location you use has car seats

  • You can rent them through most car rental places.

My sister always liked traveling with hers because once the kids needed to be in their own seats, they brought the car seat on board for the kids to sit in and they were in a more familiar setting and traveled easier on the plane.  Before they need to be in their own seat, with most airlines you are able to check car seats for free as well.

  • We brought our carseat to CO because we didn't rent a car, but when we went to myrtle beach we rented the seat and the car. It was super convenient. Southwest didn't charge me to check the seat because that is their policy anyhow, however, we have paid to check the seat on United every.single.time. Not a huge deal just wanted you to be aware.
