Question for the realtors/mortgage people
DH bought our house before we were married and the title and mortgage are in his name only. We now want to look into a home equity loan. In this situation, do banks make you add the spouse to the title and the home equity loan? Or can he do it in his own name as long as I sign off on something? I wouldn't really care but I'm worried my income and student loans will screw us as far as the debt to income ratio goes.
