need decorating help. desperately!!
I swear I had a purpose behind this! We painted out kitchen bassackward than what normal people would. We painted our walls a dark brown, and the cupboards the nearly white. Our theory behind that was that when our cupboards are installed (they are in our shed! Just need time to get them put up!) there will be more cupboard space then wall showing. and I LOVE the colors I picked out. But it's too much dark brown on the 2 major walls. So I need another color.
Can someone help me with my kitchen?? Here are pics of my kitchen from 2 angles (TINY kitchen!) and with it being an older mobile home, I would prefer that we don't spend a ton of money on it for other stuff. I have new flooring picked out, new coutertop, a stainless steel sink and new faucet and the cupboards just need to get installed. They are very basic with straight clean lines. Oh, and we do have our new lighting also, I just haven't installed it yet. (LOTS of winter projects!! ) lol

So what I need is a different paint color and backsplash idea for by the sink. Give me ideas please. I'm at a total loss. This is the ONLY room I am stuck on!!
Re: need decorating help. desperately!!
I think with a smaller kitchen, you want a light, bright color to open it up and make it look bigger. What about a yellow or light green? I think that would go better with your white cabinets.
What color are the cabinets that you want to eventually install? That would make a difference on what color the walls should be so you don't have to end up painting again.

You can always post your pictures on http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Kitchens/gallery.esi and ask for suggestions/help. It's a good place to look for ideas too.
If it was me, I'd add some spring green, teal blue or buttery yellow as accents to break up some of the brown. You can handpaint a backsplash with some shapes or even tape it off and make tiles out of paint.
Hate to say it, but I am NOT a green person! lol I think I'm just going to get some paint samples for a lighter brown/tan for the walls and use the dark brown as my accent color. All of my decorations are a beautiful set from At Home America and they are a dark brown based so I will definately have the colors I want.
