Notary Public

I have to get a form notarized so I can get my Ohio retirement system monies rolled over into an IRA that I opened yesterday. Any idea of a notary public in the Arlington area (I plan to go on Friday on my day off)? I have never had to use one before. Is there a fee associated typically?

Re: Notary Public

  • You can usually find one at your bank.  They'll usually do it for free if you're an account holder.  You may also have one if you have a legal/ finance department at work.

  • There's one up the street at the gas station (random) by where I work.  That's not helpful though, it's in Rockville.

I've also seem notary publics at the library, college admissions offices and banks.

Ditto Mary by checking if you have a legal dept!

ETA:  Do you carry insurance through someone local (like, with a physical office you can go into)?  They might have one.

  • If you're a fed, try asking if any of your co-workers know of one in your agency.  At both my current and past agency, there were notaries (although at my current one, the notary is with our credit union).

  • Some UPS Stores and FedEx Kinkos offer Notary Services.

This is a good idea! I know when I worked in the Governor's office out in Arizona, there was a notary in our building.

This is what I was going to suggest.  Or the library.

banks do them and your local courthouse proabaly has one. yes they'll charge you but it won't be much i'd imagine
