Re: Good News/Bad News
My Good: Had a very low key weekend. It was nice. We also had our family reunion and my grandpa is 1/13. My Grandparents had 9 kids. We did the math at the reunion and found out we have 74 in our family and over 400 all together. It's nice to know we have such a big family growing strong!
My Bad: The Longhorns got CREAMED by OU. I have no idea what the hell happened. I also lost BOTH of my ff teams. BOOO!
The Bad: Our 2 month old car is in the shop, possibly due to a cracked radiator and coolant leak. Oh, and a dented rim and broken hubcap...all thanks to a pothole.
The good: Had an awesome long weekend in VT with friends, including watching the Pats beat the Jets with a bunch of Jets fans. Just made the victory that much sweeter!
The bad: The guy who's supposed to rip up our front yard to fix our drainage so we don't flood again STILL hasn't done it. This weekend was gorgeous, and he didn't do it. Now, he swears he's doing it today and tomorrow, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow. He also announced that he's going on vacation for 2 weeks beginning Friday. I am so annoyed!
The Bad: DH leaves again soon
GOOD: Well...I think that one is pretty obvious!
BAD: Dh had his second case of vertigo over the weekend. He went to the regular dr. yesterday, who is sending him to an ENT to get evaluated further because they are concerned about the headaches he has had since Saturday.
The Good: Maggie was so happy for a majority of the weekend. It was nice not to have a sick, teething, or cranky baby for once. Matt and I enjoyed a nice dinner with her on Friday and then did some family stuff the rest of the weekend. Also, Matt got some calls for phone interviews for some jobs. We really need him to get a new job since his current company has been on a wage increase freeze for almost 4 years!
The Bad: Matt hasn't heard back from any of the places mentioned above and he is getting discouraged. I feel blah all of a sudden and wish it would go away. I wish I could be a SAHM. This work thing stinks
Good: Our friend's wedding was awesome and I had so much fun. Besides my own, that's the most I've enjoyed a wedding. And M and I had a great rest of the weekend.
Bad: hm... nothing from the weekend really... But yesterday I started feeling sick. Boo.
The good: DH was home for three days in a row because it was a long weekend this weekend. It was so good to have him around
The bad: I'm in a lot of pain and I think something looks "not quite right" about my stitches. My doctor is out of town (until the second week in November!), so that means to get it checked out I'm going to have to go and sit and wait in a walk in clinic and I REALLY don't want to do that with my newborn baby. Plus, the walk-in is sure to be swamped due to the long weekend. Blah!
Good News: It's our second week of fall break.
Bad News: Having two weeks of fall break sucks. My sleep schedule is completely messed up, I'm bored as hell, and I'm just ready to get back to work and see my kiddos.
Good: We had a garage sale over the weekend and our take home was $1,000! I am buying a video monitor for Parker's room and buying Rusty a basektball goal for the driveway for his birthday!
Bad: Parker has been a miserable mess the past couple of days. Between gas, teething, and an upper respirtory infection no one is too happy at our house. Poor guy.
Good - My MIL's birthday was Saturday. I made her a cake and it was really good. The Razorbacks ran all over Auburn. Woot Woot!! GO HOGS!!!!
Bad - DH was on nights this weekend, so I was sleeping alone all weekend. He worked Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights and then is off three days that I'm working. This is the first time I can remember in the past year that he hasn't worked at least one day of overtime during his three days off and it happens to be days that I am working. Sigh.
The Good: Griz rolled ISU 33-0 AND I convinced Ryan to let me get a new camera!
The Bad: We drove down to Pocatello and stayed with friends after the game. Ryan woke up at 3am with a migraine and he was throwing up everywhere. I had to go to the store and buy Excedrin. At 3 in the morning.
The ugly. KR is still not sleeping through the night. I was BEYOND frustrated last night. In fact, I'll probably do another post in a second about this.
GOOD:
-Football related: I won my football pick'em pool at work (beat all the boys and won $36 lol not much money but I'll take it!), I won FF b/c Tara forgot to switch her players who had Bye weeks lol, the Patriots beat the Jets and UMaine beat JMU in an awesome overtime 2-point conversion that ended up as 2nd on SportsCenter!
-Family related: Mom and I had a great day yesterday! We went to a pilates reformer class and then went out to a seafood place I love so I could have my last lazy lobster of the season. It was nice to spend some time with mom and take her mind off of the fact it was the 4 year anniversary of Grammie's death (and Grampy's wake). Also, DH got a 94 on a test in the class that a sh*tty instructor teaches! The guy goes off on tangents about fried dough and his significant other, so DH was confused about what actually was going to be on the test, but I guess he did managed to get the jist of it all!
-Money related: Since DH didn't roll his old 401k over into a new one after leaving Best Buy, we got a check in the mail that it was forced payout. That's not the good news haha the good news is that after talking to a financial planner, I figured out what we're going to do with that check...we're planning on saving up enough that we can pay for his last semester of college instead of taking out loans. I put it into an ING Direct account (if anyone wants a referral, PM me your email address!) that has 1% interest and we'll add a little each paycheck to it. Between that amount and the amount he'll get from his spring tuition reimbursement, we should be all set, despite the $394/credit hour his school charges.
BAD:
I'm at work and I have a ton of paperwork that I don't want to do. We also have Open House tomorrow and someone in Admissions decided that I should be on a Q&A panel about Liberal Studies. I am terrified of public speaking. Awesome.
good news: we set up 2.0's crib this weekend, my mom booked her ticket for a visit in early November, we just scored a ton of high end baby items (mostly organic/natural) from my chiro who was wanting to clean out her basement before she moved. About $2000 worth of goods for $100-plus she has 6 totes of girl clothing she wants to give me if LO is a girl..and she has awesome taste
bad news: S woke me up at 5 this morning, that's only 4 hours of sleep for me. I could kill him.
Good News: DH and I are off to Nashville this weekend && we get to meet up with Lincoln && Liz! (Yes I'm going to keep bringing this up because I'm so excited!!) I only have to work 4 days this week. Yay!
Bad News: Something is up with one of my BFFs and I'm very much worried.
Good: I can't wait to see my brothers the end of this week.
Bad: Morning sickness just doesn't want to let go... I've been having a bad few days again.

My Blog
Good: We went to the pumpkin patch and had a lot of fun on Saturday.
Bad: DH was home sick from work on Sunday/Monday, annoying the crap out of me, and then we just found out today that to get the electrical hooked up to our hot tub is going to be outrageous because our electrical panel is as old as the house... sigh
Good: Got to spend a lot of quality time with DH; finished up some outdoor work that needed to get finished; got to spend the day with one of my besties who I hadn't seen in too long; an extra day off is always good!
Bad: Nothing bad this weekend, just the return to work being rough this morning.
The Good- My brother is now a Navy SEAL! We are so proud of him and went and attended his graduation. He was beaming, it was awesome. I posted a picture on FB of he and I immediately following his ceremony. I got to spend Thurs-Sunday with my family & his girlfriend, whom I love. It was a wonderful trip to Chicago and I enjoyed every second of it. I definitely needed some quality family time!
The Bad- I didn't have time for studying and had an exam today, and I didn't get to spend the weekend w/ my H.
Good - I booked out flights to Texas today!
Bad - My cousin left for McMurdo Station this weekend. He won't be back until the spring. We've spent Christmas together for the last six years or so. It's going to be really weird not having him around.
Kate's Recipe Box || Relatively Bookish
Good: DH and I started packing yesturday.
I finally got to "The Ugly Truth" which was on TV yesturday and I've been wanting to see forever.
Bad: My lower back is kind-of sore.
Good: I went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend for a women's retreat with some ladies from church.
Bad: I have been going to bed waaay too late for the last two weeks or so. I've felt really busy and like I need to keep staying up late to get stuff done. I'm hoping to catch up on sleep this weekend.
