Re: trip to vermont...

  • In my experience, VT weather is similar to MA weather.

I love Stowe (H and I have stayed at the Stoweflake Inn and it's beautiful for a relaxing weekend getaway- not so much a family trip).

Burlington is a great area. If you get a night out without LO, check out Trattoria Delia. It is AMAZING. Possibly my favorite restaurant ever.

  • Ditto LadyE. Love Stowe. We stayed at the Brass Lantern Inn (great breakfasts) the last time we were there. Ben & Jerrys is just up the road, along with a cute apple cider mill. There's a rec path through town.

I'd go October over November, hands down.

  • We've also gone to Stowe...in February, which was freezing! And we still had a great time! If you enjoy food, chocolate, cheese, and/or wine, it is a great place....and yes, ice cream too!  It's a beautiful area, have a great time!
  • We usually go up to the Hubbardton area, as that's where my parents have a vacation house...We do also drive through QueeChee gorge to get there, which is awesome, but I haven't been through there since Hurricane Irene, and I know VT got hit pretty hard in some areas, queechee being one of them.

You have to get some cheese, and some maple syrup when you go! :)

Oh yeah, some friends of mine just got back from Vermont and mentioned how evident the damage from Hurricane Irene was up there, even now.  I'm not sure exactly what area they were in though.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball
