Another Clicky: Speaking of umbrellas

DH and I had scheduled a pumpkin patch photo shoot with our pup for this Sunday. Then, DH brought up that he didn't think pumpkin patches allowed dogs, the photog confirmed, but since she's a friend of ours, she will actually do our session at the Bothell Landing park.  I was hoping the leaves would start to turn colors (looks like some are and some aren't) but looking at the weather forecast it's calling for (surprise, surprise) rain.  While I don't normally use an umbrella, since the weather may be blah, I'm trying to decide if I should use one and if so, what kind?

Re: Another Clicky: Speaking of umbrellas

  • I voted for some other color umbrella...but I think you should go with something fun and patterned :)

  • Those clear ones are really cute!

  • My vote is to find a cheap fun one to have with you just in case..and we'll will you some good nestie vibes for a break in the rain and it not be needed.

  • You know, Daiso often has cute stick umbrellas - with the J shaped handle, non-compact, in some fun simply patterns, and they sell them for $1 or $2. I've seen clear with multi-colored polka-dots or thin stripes.

  • You'll want an umbrella that is light coloured so that light can get through and doesn't make you look like martians, and so the flash doesn't cast unnecessary shadows.  But make an umbrella part of it -- it will be a cute prop!

  • I would get a big, bright one (like opening scene of frends).  Could be cool/fun prop if it's rainy.

Will your photog still do pics in the rain?  My friend had fam photo shoot last weekend and it was raining and photog wouldn't do outside shots.

  • Hmm, good point on the light color for an umbrella.  As for the photog taking pics in the rain, I'm sure she will (she has multiple mini-sessions scheduled that day) but I will definitely double check.
