Just got this email about gathering Alumni support to get UH in the BCS. It is easy to send an email of support, it only took a few minutes. UH is in such a great place right now both academically and athletically and I really want to see our amazing school grow even more. I urge you to write your heartfelt thoughts! Thanks and go Coogs!!!!
"Hello friends! Let me begin by sending my congratulations to the entire University of Houston Cougar family for a wildly successful 2011 at our alma mater. With the announcement of the Tier One research designation by the Carnegie Foundation and the listing in The Princeton Review?s ?Best Colleges,? the University of Houston is taking its rightful place among the elite universities in the country.
As you know, the world of college athletics is undergoing unprecedented change, with college football taking center stage in conference realignment all around us. UH Athletics continues to seek new opportunities and, rest assured, our terrific leaders Chancellor Renu Khator and Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades have been doing everything strategically to navigate this very fluid time in college athletics.
As such, the time is now for the Cougar Nation to unite in an effort to ensure our now 6-0 nationally ranked football team and elite athletics program take their rightful place in a BCS conference. The time is now for the Cougars to act!
I am very happy to be teaming up with the UH Alumni Association in launching this grassroots campaign today. All you need to do is go to www.houstonalumni.com and click on the link to participate. Take a moment to send us an email with your expressions to the BCS leadership about UH?s inclusion in the BCS. It?s very simple: click the link, send your email to UHAA and then I will work with UHAA to take what I hope are hundreds of messages from Cougars throughout the nation, with a very enlightening UH informational presentation, directly to the decision makers and make the case for our home team.
So please take the challenge to join the team and get your email in by Friday, October 14 at noon. If you have any questions, the UHAA staff will be more than happy to answer them for you, just give them a call at 713-743-9550. Mike Pede and his staff at UHAA will be collecting your letters and putting them in a presentation with important resources and I will be sure the Cougars are looked upon under the brightest of lights.
Thanks so much for your help in this very important endeavor and be sure to get on board before Friday at noon. I look forward to seeing all of you in Houston soon. Go Coogs!
In UH we trust,
Jim Nantz, ?81
