Northern Michigan question for moms/nannies
Hi ladies,
A question from a me, mother of two and a neighbour in Windsor, ON! Our family just bought a cottage in Northern MI, right outside Gaylord, so we will definitely be frequenting the area more often than we have in the past. Our new neighbours at the cottage have two teenage girls, 13 & 15 y.o. and have been friends of our family's for a couple years. Anyone know what's the going rate up there for a babysitter? Here, I pay mine $8/hr and she's 15 y.o.

I don't think it'd be too much of a difference up north. I paid my $10 over the summer to watch my 2 kids, and she was 17 yrs old.
Enjoy your cottage, it's gorgeous up north!
I always ask my babysitters what their rates are. My favorite babysitter I had was ds daycare teacher. She told me $10 for both boys. I figured that was a great deal considering she's trained in all things related to children.
I'd say $8 would be fair for a teenager.
