Dewberry Farm - was this discussed yet?

We want to take DS this year. Is there enough for an 19-month old to do? And do you think the weekend before Halloween will be more crazy than any other weekend?

One last question. Wwhat do you think is better - get there when it opens, or get there late afternoon?

Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

  • I don't think we took Gideon until he was 2 1/2, not saying that your 19month wouldn't enjoy certain activities there, but it's more for older kids IMO.  As for what time to get there, I think that would more depend on when your DS naps. If he naps in the car alright, then the drive up there would be perfect and he would be fresh to enjoy the day.  The place is big enough that if one spot is crowded you can move on to other areas.  But typically I would say that mid-morning to early afternoon is more crowded.

  • I think its geared more for older kids... and yes I think the weekend before halloween will be crazy.

We got there at open and it was pretty crowded by 12

  • Thanks, ladies. I thought he might be a bit young. We may just find a pumpkin patch unless DH has his heart set on going.  :-)

  • I don't think it'd be worth it unless you got a groupon or other cheap ticket. Yes, he'd probably have fun, there's a playground and pumpkins... but IMO it's not worth it until they are a bit older.

There's a pumpkin patch/little carnival thingie in bellaire this weekend (we've gone the last 2 years, it's fairly low key): http://www.naturediscoverycenter.org/pumpkin-patch

And then there's Zoo Boo the next two weekends: http://www.houstonzoo.org/en/cev/49/ Just make sure you go early because parking is atrocious - one year I parked at the science museum and walked to the zoo.
