'Tis that time of year... bugs...

If you saw my fb post you saw that I found a spider literally the size of Nolan's hand in his room. Cue me jumping up and down, screaming for DH. Quite the sight to see, I promise.

Now I have the heebie jeebies and I am watching every step I take and looking under and around everything. Ugh.

So, we use the Ortho Home Defense for outside, but even though it claims to be safe to use indoors it worries me with Nolan and all of his toys/etc.

What do you use indoors to keep out the bugs at this time of year?

Re: 'Tis that time of year... bugs...

  • We load up the pets, set off some sort of bug bombs in the attic, and go on an overnight visit somewhere.  I'll have to ask H what the brand is.

ETA: After googling to try and find a name, I'm seeing that bug bombs are perhaps not the smartest thing to use after all.  I'm looking forward to others' suggestions!

  • I have 3 cats, one of whom is quite the hunter.  I don't use anything within my house... they do it for me!  Cats, the natural spider solution.  :)

That said, I'm sure there are some great natural pesticides on the market.  I hope you find something, because I truly understand the hatred of things that crawl.

    Married in 2008 - DD born in 2010 - EDD 6.15.2012!
  • I'd like to know too. We tried a natural pesticide outside, and it didn't work at all. In fact, we still have a nice sized ant hill in our flower bed that needs to go...

This. There is a reason we named our cat Dexter. We haven't seen a live bug since we got him. Just dead "presents."
  • OMG it was attack of the spiders tonight.

In ZUMBA there was a huge spider (and I believe you when you say it was the size of Nolan's hand because the ones I saw tonight were probably that big too) crawling it's way toward my space on the dance floor.

Then at home, Mike spotted one just outside of the bathroom while I was in the shower. Then proceeded to kill it in a paper towel and show it to me.

Gah - gave me the willies.
