How ridiculous is the commercial for that? Padma slobbering over a rib? Ugh. I hope the whole season doesn't try to perpetuate the stupid hick/cowboy/classlessness stereotype Texas already has. I really hope they show the culture of places like San Antonio and the eclectic modernity of Austin!
Anyway, It's been too long since I've had Top Chef episodes on my DVR, so I'm getting excited!

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

Married Bio
I know I will watch... I'm just sad that they aren't featuring Houston. It's my hometown and where I live and I think Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the US.
We have amazing restaurants and cultures.
I do love Austin and San Antonio though. Love going there just to get away from work and relaxing by the lake or having a drink on the Riverwalk. Not a big fan of Dallas.
I read somewhere (cannot remember where exactly) that Houston wouldn't pay Bravo the money it wanted to film in the city - not sure where it was, but I think the Chronicle, or some other paper is trying to get information about what they were asking, how much, etc. Kinda crappy that Bravo demanded $$ to film in the city (I get that it's publicity for the city and all, but still!)
I think it's common for a lot of shows like this to receive money for filming. For some reason it's become a big deal for TC Texas. But it is shady that they won't be transparent w/ the details.
It's funny because as Texans, we are so proud of our culture and being Texan, but when someone else comes in and showcases it, we're offended that it's all cowboy boots and BBQ.
I'm looking forward to it! Yee-haw!
LOL, and I'm from Dallas and don't like Houston. Seems to be a pretty common divide
I'm looking forward to watching, both because I always love watching TC and because it will be nice to see Texas!
I can't wait. I pph Top Chef!
I definately think they will be able to travel all over the state and have a lot of regional food. I also envision a bbq elimination and an elimination where the chefs have to cook cactus, rattlesnake, etc.
