Craving alert! Cider doughnuts??

I LOVE apple cider doughnuts and growing up in New England that was my favorite part of fall. There was this one orchard that I used to go to every fall and they would make them on site and they were warm and delish and I would eat them to my little heart's content (what? It was ONCE a year). I'm really craving them this year and won't be going home for a visit this fall. Booo. Does anyone know of anywhere around here where I could get some? OR, if you know of a good recipe I would even attempt to make them myself.

The Apple House (out 66 most of the way to Skyline Drive - it's the same exit as Linden winery) has awesome apple cider donughts. If there's a closer place to get them, I'm all excited to hear

I have no suggestions, but am in the same boat. We went to visit the ILs this weekend, who have a cider mill literally five minutes from their house. We stopped by twice this weekend, once they were already closed and the second time the line was insane, so I never got my doughnut. I was so disappointed!

The Del Ray farmers market! There's a vendor that sells them...Saturday mornings...but get there early because they sell out fast.

This is the only place I've had them around here. It's quite a drive, but definitely a worthwhile stop if you're heading out west for leaf peeping.

The Apple House is only about 6 miles from Stribling Orchard... too bad we saw it on the GPS but didn't go for lunch last Saturday after apple picking!!

The farm in Clinton is called Miller Farms. http://millerfarmsclinton.com/. Their donuts are quite tasty. It's about 20-25 minutes from Alexandria, VA or SW DC.

Weber's Cider Mill Farm has them. They're a little north of Baltimore and we (toddler included) had a great time there a few weekends ago. They have hay rides, farm animals, giant slide, a hay maze, and a few other things. It's a lot of fun!

I looked last night and all they had were pumpkin frosting on regular cake donuts. Then again, it was night so all the good stuff would've already been gone. I've never had one but they sound yummy!
