LOVE the series and thinking about reading the books... has anyone read them? How different from the tv series are they? If I read the books will it take away my enjoyment of the show?
Re: Dexter... show vs books?
I was having a conversation about this the other day with my boss.
What I gathered from him is that the show has really deviated from the books. I take it to be like True Blood. The show kinda/sorta follows the books and the basic bones are the same (same overall plot) but everything else has been changed to suit television better

No way! Ugh... I wonder reading the books would ruin the TV show for me. Hmm
The books are so good! The plots and story lines are quite a bit different so it wouldn't ruin the show for you.
Oh, and in the reverse, there was a character killed off on the show who wasn't killed off in the books, but was severly wounded to the point he/she is now handicapped.
JUst a little teaser for you...
