Castle - Richard Castle books

I just watched last night's episode and I saw an ad for the latest novel by Richard Castle.

Sure enough there is a whole series of books by Richard Castle.  When I look for author information it just takes me to Nathan Fillion's character.

So who really writes these books?

Has anyone actually read them?

Re: Castle - Richard Castle books

  • I read a preview on my Nook. I thought it was terrible, but I couldn't get Castle's voice out of my head while I was reading and it completely distracted me. It just seemed really cheesy.
  • I have read the first one and am now reading the second. They are ghost-written and attributed to Richard Castle. They are certainly not blockbuster mysteries, but since I enjoy the characters in Castle so much, I really enjoy them. The cases are presented well, and they are a fun read.

  • I am not sure who actually writes these books, but they are a good easy read if that is what you are looking for.  Totally cheesy and borderline romance novel at times, but a mindless and entertaining read nonetheless.

Sounds like my kind of book! I love the show, so I may give the books a try.

  • I was asking this same thing last week. I've read the first two, but not the third yet.
  • I've read the first two but not the newest one.  I think they are cute and fun but they are not great works of literature or anything.

  • I have read the first one, it was fairly good. I will be reading the next ones!
  • I was just writing a draft for my review of the first book for my blog tonight! I have never watched the show and I didn't even know the author wasn't really a person. I ended up googling "him" after the logo of Castle on the cover got my curiousity up and from wiki figured out what was going on. I think it's a kind of cool tie in to the show - now I'm curious to watch an episode. The book wasn't anything spectacular but it was a good, fast read and fit in a category for the FBC over on NBC <-the board, not the channel, lol.
