Anyone else watch this Tim Allen show last night? After 3 minutes, DH and I chuckled about how awful it is. Then, and I can't explain it, we continued watching both epidsodes and by the end we enjoyed it. It's not critically good at all, but something about it reminded me of the family sitcoms I grew up with (and not in an awful "According to Jim" kind of way.)
Oh, and I love the guy in outdoor shop (the concierge from Pretty Woman.)
Did you watch? What did you think? And seriously, how lame am I that I liked this show?
Re: Last Man Standing...
I agree with you. At first I wasn't feeling it, but I kept watching. I enjoyed the first episode but I wasn't feeling the baby proof episode as much and ended up changing to NCIS.
I agree that it is better than a lot of the other new shows, but I doubt I'll make a point to watch it each week. If it's on and I'm available, I'll watch.
I don't think you are lame for liking it- it does have a good family sitcom vibe in a more realistic, updated kind of way.
I taped it but haven't watched yet. We caught a minute of it before we turned something else on and we laughed, and, H also said he's glad to see sitcoms coming back and how it reminded him of child hood. I couldn't agree more!
I think that dynamic works, and, Tim Allen is funny. Sure, it's taking things from Home Improvement and changing it up, which, I'm not all that upset about.
I love Tim Allen, and loved the show. I hope that TV brings back more "TGIF" style shows. Seems that anything with a (gasp) paugh track gets bad reviews. There were a lot of comparisons to Home Improvement (one of my ALL TIME fave shows)! He has 3 girls, not 3 boys, is a guys' guy, works at an outdoors store, not a tool show, but Tim (Mike) had n internet show he ran from his store. I really enjoyed it.
