DEXTER : 10/9 *spoilers*

When LaGuerta was in her boss' office and he said he had other ideas as to who, I swear, I was thinking of who possibly could be and thought...."seriously if it's Deb I will scream" and well....there ya go. I can totally see her being a horrible Lt.
I am also so annoyed she told Quinn no. Like I said before, you two are good together and are in a healthy relationship for a while and you say no??? Yet you told Ice Truck, yes??? Come on! I actually was liking Quinn surprisingly and for someone who was such a womanizer, he sure changed for her.

The rest of the episode was just ok.

Re: DEXTER : 10/9 *spoilers*

  • I'm not surprised Deb said no. Every relationship she has had has ended terribly (Ice Truck, Lundy being killed in front of her, Antoine being skinned), so it would be less believable if she was "Yeah, let's get married! I have no relationship phobias to work through!" haha

I like that she is Lt, and I think she'll do well. But I don't think you're just appointed Lt, I think there's a test or something. And she's the newest detective, so would she really have bypassed people who have been detectives for years? The whole thing is a little far fetched.

I really like Colin Hanks as our bad guy.

  • I guess I'm just a Deb hater. Always have been. She irritates me.

I said the same thing. Angel is way more experienced. If Doakes was around, he would have been it even though I hated him too. I think she was picked as Lt because of the whole "hero" thing going on with the media over that bar shooting thing.

this AND because (I forget his title- LaGuertas boss) wanted to f*ck with her too. he knows she wants Angel in there and I absolutely think this was his "f*ck you" to her for blackmailing him

Exactly. I thought this was pretty clear. He chose Deb as a f*ck you and also as a way to blame/demote LaGuerta when the sh!t hits the fan. I think Mos Def is doing an excellent job in his role.

I was thinking this... But do you think he is setting Deb up to fail in order to screw with Maria? Or is he hoping Deb does well and her appointment was enough to p!ss Maira off? I am not sure.

I honestly think either/or. Either scenario is a win/win for him.

  • I get why Deb was chosen but was bummed that it happened.  How long has she been detective?? As for the proposal, I also think she should have said yes but just not gotten married next week. But in light of the new position, it makes sense to only have one major life change at a time. My preference would have been marriage though! It just makes more sense for her. Also.... didn't Quinn lay off of Dexter just because he fell for Deb? Now what....? He had pics of him dumping bags with Lumen!

I totally agree!! So mad about this!

I think Tom Hanks son {sorry I forgot his name lol}... has a perfect creep-factor to him tho! I'm anxious to see how that story line plays out. I also loved how Harrison noticed "daddys box."

How did I forget about this?

I actually liked her and Quinn together.  It bothered me that she said no.

Agree - the episode was meh.  I'm looking forward to seeing what happens this season.

Quinn had the blood on his shoes from the PI that Dexter killed and Quinn was being blamed for it. Dexter fudged the lab results to get Quinn off. So basically he and Quinn are even now. They both have something on each other so neither would rat the other one out.

It's a good point though, that Quinn will probably start watching Dexter's every move big time. Didn't Quinn steal some money from a crime scene one time, and Dexter saw that too. I don't think they ever went anywhere with that. Maybe they'll start playing Quinn and Dexter off each other more in both directions.

I agree that Deb was largely given the promotion as a big F-U to LaGuerta. But I think he really did think Deb's fresh eyes and think outside the box (or occasionally get tipped off by Dexter...) approach would be good for the department too. I don't think he would've offered it to her if he thought she had no chance of doing well. I really hope she shines. And doesn't cuss through all her press conferences. ; )

I love Masuko, but I am not into his gross obsession with his intern. Just not feelin' it.

Ahhh, I love this show. So happy it's back. I miss Lumen though. I loved the Dexter/Lumen relationship. It was so nice to see someone care for the real him. : (

  • dh and i were talking about deb getting lt. yes, i think it was a f*ck you to laguerta but i think that maybe something will happen with dexter and deb will have to get him out of it....just a thought.

i was a bit annoyed that she told quinn no too. she was acting super weird about it and kind of mean to him BUT i do understand that she prob would have serious relationship issues because of previous things. i did think it was funny when dexter said (in his head) about picking between quinn and him and how it wouldn't even be a question- deb would pick dexter. i wish dexter would just say 1 time outloud that he loves her...b/c i def think he does.

travis (colin hanks) is totally creepy!! and the old man is super weird too. the burning his arm had me freaked out.

    love, love, love this show.

  • I didn't realize the "do as you say, sir" guy is Tom Hanks child!

I liked this episode. I'm disappointed that Deb turned down Quinn but that's Deb for you. I think Deb has best intentions for the Lt. position but I think ultimately Angel will end up in the position.

Does anyone remember what Laguerta (sp?) is blackmailing their head guy with?

    Dexter's son is very cute.

I believe in the first episode of the season, it was about prostitution? Whatever it was, it was about sex.

Yeah, I think she said his name appeared in some "black books" for madams.

Me neither. But he looks a lot like him!
  • I liked most of this episode, but I'm not feeling much creepiness or danger from the villains. I don't get why they aren't showing them actually attack their victims, I think that would go a long way to making them seem more sinister.

Deb as LT is an interesting movie, but poor Angel! I'm not surprised Deb said no to Quinn, but I doubt they are done yet.

I agree. Right now it just seems weird. It'll start to pick up once they are on their tail and trying to get them.

Yea, I don't think their relationship is over. But, they can't have one as long as she's Lt. Correct? It'll be the same situation as when Laguerta and Angel couldn't be in a relationship and so they got married.
