.... what song(s) would be your soundtrack for your day so far?
I'm having a very ADD kind of day myself, and can't focus on one thing at a time-- so I thought this might be a fun distraction from my telemetry studies...

Re: Tell me...
5 AM: an old kids' band from my youth called Rosenshontz had a song called "Sleep, Sleep." The chorus goes "Sleep, sleep, you gotta go to sleep right now. Sleep, sleep! You gotta go to sleep!" The verses are common kid excuses why they can't go to sleep. This was the unpleasant theme for the half hour James decided he wanted to be up and scream, but not actually have anything specific wrong.
9:30 AM: The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy), Simon & Garfunkel - I dropped James off and then dropped my car off for inspection after spending almost $600 (that we dont' have) to finally replace my tires yesterday. Inspection was due in July and we realized it last month- oops. So I had to walk into work- it was a lovely October morning and I could have walked around for hours.
10 AM-1:30 PM: The Girl From Ipanema, Stan Getz - Traditional, but pleasant elevator music that sums up my humdrum morning at work. Just doin' my thing.
2 PM: Joking, Indigo Girls - As in, you've got to be joking. My car failed inspection because the driver side sun visor has been broken for months and it has to be able to go down and stay up on it's own- which it can't- to pass inspection. We've looked before to find a replacement kit with no luck. I called the dealer and it normally costs around $90 to get a replacement- BS. I now have to go get some sticky velcro and attempt to either get it to stick to the cloth ceiling (possibly ripping it when we try to take it off, or at minimum leaving glue all over it) or sew it to the ceiling so I can just pass inspection and not get ticketed for something so insanely stupid!!!! I could scream. (Good news- everything else is perfect.)
Currently: Waiting on the World to Change, John Mayer - I kind of just feel like I want to sit and wait for things to improve around me. I'm too beat down to fight some of these stupid things and just want to go take a nap somewhere quiet and hope it's better when I get up!
(Let's not go thinking everything is awful here in Erika-land, it's just been a trying 12-18 hours. Nothing I won't overcome but I am feeling pissy at the moment!)
Wow-- crazy day! I can't believe that about the visor-- can you just take it off/remove it completely and call it a day?
I am still trying to think of a song that matches my day.
Earlier, it was "Like the Weather" by 10000 Maniacs. All about staying in bed and not being productive all day while her partner is out getting things done. And that it's just kind of a grey blah day out...
But now, I have no idea...
