Re: Fears Part 1 (clicky)

  • this is such a horrible poll Crying

maybe when jenn compiles all the 'data' it will reveal something about our sex lives though?

    lol

all that aside, the first couple options are what really get me - spiders being by far the worst.  I hate it because I feel like I should be able to conquer this, they are so small!  But something in me just can't handle it.

Ok, we ARE twins!! I've managed to get my arachnophobia down to calmly asking H to get rid of them (when they're teeny...the bigger they more likely I have to walk away until it's gone). I used to run from the room with a panic attack!

Sorry for the horrible poll, just trying to liven the board a little!

lol, ok it's settled.  If jenn and husky are twins, I guess we're the next pair!

I will say H is pretty awesome - I know he hates them as much as I do, but he's able to channel that fear into anger at them and kill them for me :D

  • You didn't name my biggest animal "fear."  I feel really uneasy around cats.  I just don't like them, and feel better if they aren't anywhere around me.

  • I'm deathly allergic to bees and therefor those are the worst for me. I always think I'll end up stung while out alone and die because no one is around to help me.

  • Moths.  I know, it's dumb, but for as long as i can remember i've been afraid of them.  I used to be afraid of bees, but got over it... fear of moths, though, i can't get over.

Don't ever go to Cabo - they have these HUGE dark moths (think wingspan of 5-6").  I'm fine with them, but they freaked out my friend who would run past them every time we came across one (which was pretty often since they were always on the walls).

Ah-ha! I had a friend in college who was VERY afraid of moths, too!

I used to be afraid of bees because I was stung when I was 5 and my foot swelled so badly I couldn't wear a shoe. We found out I was allergic to about 3-5 varieties so I was very afraid for a while...but as the years passed and I didn't get stung again, I slowly lost my concern.

I saw a small (2.5") but frightening one in Germany (maybe Hawksomthingorother Hummingbird Moth) and a huuuge silk moth in Georgia.  it was as big as my hand.  I'm ok as long as they aren't flying.  In fact, i find them really interesting and if i have my camera i can't help but take pictures of them.  But when they move, i'm done ::shudders::

Yeah, you wouldn't like these, especially at night.  I swear, they just KNEW my friend was afraid of them so they always would fly TOWARDS her!  It was kind of funny.  The first night, one flew right into her wine glass.  We seriously wondered how thirsty it was!

  • you didn't name mine---

i can't pinpoint *what* i'm really afraid of...but i'm going to say some sort of wild, 4 legged creature (or 2 legged big foot) that probably lives in the forest. i'm going along the lines of cougars, wolves, etc.
