No.... unless I knew where they came from. Like I got a hand-me down sectional from a friend at work. It was wonderful but I def wouldn't buy it somewhere. No way would I buy a used mattress or bathing suit.
I guess the only thing I would buy second hand is a dresser.....

A couch? No but mainly because we're pretty rough on the furniture between lots of company and the dogs that I can't really have anything already worn, we do too much of that too quickly as it is!
Dresser? Yes
Bathing suit? Yikes heck no.
Mattress? Nope
Area rug? Hmmmm maybe if it was in a room that wasn't a high traffic area.
A couch? Possibly...if I knew the person. We have chairs in our living room I bought from my dad's neighbor's estate sale.

Bathing suit? No
Mattress? Yes. We got one from a CW, plus their bed frame and box spring for $200. It worked.
Area rug? Yes as long as it was clean.
