Just bought our first appliances!
I am so excited right now. Fi and I are closing on our home Oct. 25 and went to look at appliances last night. We need a washer, dryer, and stove...the ones in our house are ancient and don't work. Our local Lowe's was having a really good sale that was to end last night. My 2nd choice washer and dryer and 1st choice stove were all on the sale! I sat down with the salesman and asked him what kind of deal he could cut me since I had to buy 3 appliances, and oh my gosh....I got a total of $200 off the washer, $200 off the dryer, and $140 off the stove! I am so stocked right now.

And Lowes does free delivery and haul away, plus instalation. They are all set to be delivered on Halloween. I am actually excited about doing laundry...I can't wait to use my new stuff! Haha. I have a feeling I will be baking Halloween cookies when I get off work that day!
Re: Just bought our first appliances!
Awesome!
Just a side note: I hope you paid cash for them and didn't put them on a credit card. They will pull your credit again a couple days before you close and will question any new increase on the cards or new accounts opened. It might delay the closing. According to our RA, she's seen couples loose a house because they bought tons of furniture on credit cards and it threw the credit score and the available funds off balance from when they first applied.
QFT. And even that much cash heading out is questionable.
Its obviously too late now, but most lenders will advise their clients to not spend large sums of money until the keys are in hand.
Hopefully your closing isn't jeopardized.
