Ugh, losing a spouse

A guy at work's wife has been fighting cancer for about a year now. Today we were told that she has a leision in her spine, her bones are brittle causing a fractured hip, and her liver is shutting down.

They put 3 months on her life.

I can not imagine this.

Makes me really appreciate what I have now because nothing is garunteed.

Ugh, so sad.

Re: Ugh, losing a spouse

  • I hate hearing news like that... life really is fragile.  I hope the man at your work is strong enough to hold himself together, for himself and any kids.  :(  Poor guy.  My t&p are with them.

  • I agree, so tragic.  Cancer is so horrific.
  • One of my coworkers just lost her niece to some rare form of lymphoma, she was 28.  The worst part of it is that she had a baby last August and the pregnancy and hormones is apparently what triggered the cancer.  She hardly got to see her own son because she was so sick and had to be quarantined after a bone marrow transplant, which unfortunately didn't work.  They held benefits to raise money for her family, we did stuff at school because she actually attended the school where I work.  I cried at work when another teacher told me she had died.  It breaks my heart because her son is just a couple months older than my twins.  It's so sad when someone so young gets cancer.

  • How awful.  Yesterday in Court a man was talking about his wife being on hospice.  He looked so sad and so...defeated.  It was heartbreaking.

    T&P for your coworker.

    Anniversary
  • A girl at my work just lost her husband to cancer.  I dont know her exact age but I would guess she is about 40ish.  They have 3 kids all under 15.  So sad...I cant even imagine.

  • T&P's for the family. Cancer sucks and I hate how so many families are broken up too soon. What a truly crappy situation.
  • That's heart breaking. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
