Baby! (Updated w/ pic)

So went in for my first appointment and everything looked and sounded good. I'm actually at 7 weeks exactly (need to change my ticker). I WANT to post an u/s picture, but I can't use photo sharing websites at work. Grrr. Let me see if this works. If not, I'll update with the picture later.

Part of me felt like we were going to go there and there would be nothing in there. The doctor was all like "you must have skipped pills" until she looked at my chart and was like "oooh, this particular medication can induce ovulation." Awesome.

I really hope it's a boy, but I have a gut feeling that it's a girl.

And question for other pregnerds, how did you tell work? I literally mean what words did you use. Somehow "so . . . I'm pregnant" seems weird.

congrats!!!!!

I told work earlier than I anticipated. My boss was being an arse and doing his own thing rather than getting to his meetings one day. So then people were calling me saying "He's a half hour late and these people flew in from New Jersey to meet with him!!!" I finally got ahold of him (he was in a senator's office, which I didn't hesitate to call and ask one of the assistants who I've developed a nice working relationship with, to put him on the phone).

When he made back into the office I said "well, I've calmed down now, but you were on my *** list. If you're going to be running THAT late, call the meeting people, or call me, so I can. By the way, I'm sorry if I came across harsh, but I'm pregnant. So you have 7 more months to deal with this and hopefully not piss me off otherwise I'm going to schedule you for 7am meetings on every monday possible." He just laughed. Thankfully I have a great relationship with my boss and it was a funny situation.

My suggestion is to do it in a way that goes along with the person's personality. Ex: If they are more formal and by the book, do it in that way. If they are more laid back do it in a fun, relaxed way.

Yay, congrats! I'm hoping for a princess, so I can vicariously live through you buying cute clothes. Big Smile

It was awkward for me, at work, just because it's awkward. I told pretty early, but I was feeling very sick and not hiding it well. We are pretty friendly, though, so I was just like, hey, so you know, I'm a little bit pregnant. They were like, there's no such thing! But I was only about 6 weeks (I was adjusted up over a week, though, because of early ovulation, so this was more like 8 weeks), so I did feel only a little pregnant!

I can;t see it either.

I am actually friends with my boss outside of work. One day at work we were talking about something and he joking said something about when i am knocked up. So I used that as my entry into well I actually am knocked up. He would have found out that weekend because we had plans to go to a Seafood and Blue fest and I wouldn't be drinking so I'm sure he would have figured it out.

Ah, I did not know that about metformin! But whew, good to know. I have a friend on it and I wonder if she knows...
