IMO, our (first) names are finalized. In DH's opinion, not so much. haha. I'm going to try to kep convincing him anyway. ![]()
Delaney (nn Laney) and
Emerson (possible nn Emme)
He doesn't "mind" Delaney though he thinks it's weird but he doesn't like Emerson at all and says it's a boy name. I, however, love them both. And I am VERY hard to please! It's likely these will change but this is the first time in the pregnacy that I've actually found two names that a) I like, b) go with our last name and c) sound okay together and with Nolan.
That is all. ![]()
ETA: DH is still set on Adelyn (sp negotiable) so I wouldn't be surprised if the final final choices are Adelyn and Delaney.
And the more I think about it, the more I kinda love it.

I think your choices are cute. Too trendy for me
I am anti-nickname! I have no idea why I like those but I do. I think it's because they are not that common (in the real world... not on the bump) so it's not an automatic nickname like when you hear "Jessica" and everyone automatically calls you "Jess." KWIM?

I think it's funny that you say that because Adelyn is a form of Adelaide which is very old fashioned and Delaney, while certainly much more "new", still has that "old time" ring IMO.
Our crazy, wonderful life
I get it. I have sooooo many bad name associations, but moreso with boys. Zach, Shawn, and Wyatt... could NEVER do it. lol.

Your ETA wasn't there when I replied so I didn't read about Adelyn. I guess it's the spelling of Adelyn that's too modern/trendy for me? Though I see you aren't sure on spelling. I prefer Adelaide. Adelyn is maybe too much like Madeline which I LOVE but it's very popular here (NY/my town).

Though It makes me picture a little spit fire girl with dark hair like Nolans and it makes me kind a like it more. LOL
You're right about Delaney - you're right it does have an old-timey ring to it but I guess I think of last names (Delaney, Emerson, etc) as being more modern as first names? Don't know. It's very pretty though. I just looked and in Gaelic and it means something like "dark defiance" uh oh
I think they're all cute
I like Emerson, but it does seem like more of a boys name. Adelyn and Delaney are cute together!

Cute! I have a good friend with a DD Delaney and she's a sweetheart. They do call her Laney a lot and I think that's a great nn.
I like Adelyn and Delaney better because Emerson and Delaney are both surnames and IMO that's too matchy/ theme-like for twins. Plus I think Addy/ Addie is a cute nn. Nice choices.
This for me too. My new niece is Adalynn, nn Ady. Though we don't call her Ady, just type it in texts.
Thanks girls
I'm pretty sure (though I reserve the right to change my mind, haha) that we'll end up with Delaney and Adelyn. According to nymbler Delaney is actually derived from Adeline which I think is hilarious and very fitting. We shall see.

haha, this is what I thought immediately when I read it!
Oh, that's cool!! I love that.
And just to add my .02 - I haven't known of any girls named Emmerson, but I know it's becoming more of a girl's name than a boy's. I really like Adelyn and Delaney together. I think they sounds great with Nolan too.
How fun!! The teacher in me cringes at the extra e, but hmmm... that is very cool, lol.
And I agree Lyns. At first thought I think of the band Emerson Drive, and though I don't personally know any Emerson's that are girls I've seen some on the bump/nest. Oh well I really think I like the sound of Delaney, Adelyn, and Nolan together. Now we'll just have to agree on spelling! haha

Yes!
Adelyn is on our (by our, I mean mine...DH doesn't discuss baby names until we are TTC ha) list. If we use it - it will be Adelynn because my mom's middle name is Lynn. Just a random thought if you have any Lynn's in your/dh's family.
