Inspection - Throughout the home building process

To piggy back off of the post below:

We definitely planned to have an inspection at the end of the build process.  We also know that there are a few walk throughs for the electrical, etc.

Do you think it's a good idea to bring your own inspector as we go through the intermediate walk throughs?

Re: Inspection - Throughout the home building process

  • I am going to try to have an independent inspector come to the pre-drywall meeting/walk-through - I've heard of a lot of people that catch big things at that stage.

  • we had a preconcealment (before drywall) inspection as well as a final inspection right before closing.  our inspector found a few things at each inspection, and i learned a lot walking through with them.  it was money VERY well spent.
