hi everyone...i was wondering if anyone has had a positive experience with the nuvaring? i recently figured out that the pill gives me migraines (after 10+ years). ever since baby #2, my bleeding has been bad (sorry TMI) so i went to the dr and was asking if they can give me a different pill?
the dr's are really pushing mirena but a large portion has to be paid out of pocket and i am not interested in shelling out $500+
so she suggested the ring...i am just curious is anyone has had any experience with it? thanks

Re: birth control?
I was on it for less than a year. I liked it at first but then I started getting horrible horrible debilitating headaches. As soon as I stopped taking it they went away.
I thought it was uncomfortable, also. It felt like it was coming out! On a few awkward occasions it did.
I personally tend not to do well on hormonal bc. We've used non hormonal methods since I went off the ring.
Would you consider charting? The only nasty side effect is waking up at the same time every morning to take your temp
Do you have a smartphone? There is a Fertility Friend app. that helps with charting if you are interested.
This! I used it to get pregnant and it worked like a charm. I also have a period tracker one on my phone as well.
I've actually have never been on birth control pills/rings/etc. in my life (obviously since I was KU at 18 lol) and all the hormone stuff kind of freaks me out. I'm not really one for taking medicine unless I have to so I've never really looked into it. I guess all the side effects kind of worry me and I worry about long term side effects like cancer and such. Charting seems to work for me so I'm sticking with it for now. It was a PITA in the beginning but now I's like second nature. We aren't done having kids so maybe my thoughts about bc will change after we have another.
Ditto everything above and add a dose of a crazy b!tch on top. And since we're going to start ttc again soon the doc didn't see a point in trying to find me another bc method, we're all about the jimmy hats
I think I've done it all and here is my $.02
Pill- cyclical pimples, migraines with AF
Ring- no migraines but it fell out a few times, I didn't hate it but decided to go and get a Mirena
Mirena- turned me into a raging beotch for a few months BUT then I had no periods for a few years and everything evened out after those first 3 months. I really liked it but recently had it taken out to TTC - No Migraines
I am not sure what we will do after we have a kid, maybe mirena or another IUD. I chart now and like it but I hate having a week that we have to avoid or use protection... so does DH. so I don't think that charting will be in our cards
I'm on Loestrin 24fe and haven't had any migrane issues. With other pills I either had breakthrough bleeding (not strong enough) or migraines (too strong). It took several different kinds, but this one worked for me. I wanted to try charting, but dh wasn't on board.
