DH and I are going to be going to the State Fair on Sunday and it'll be our first time. We were wondering what are the prices like? I looked online and saw that its $15.00 to park. My MIL works at a company where she can get tickets for about $10 bucks each, so wer're covered there.

I'm dying to try all the fried food, except the fried salsa. ewww. So what should we expect? Are there certain things we should do? TIA for all of your help!
Re: State Fair Question!
I have the same question - but for next year. I've never been before, i'd like to - but since we're moving right now we cant

Well you have parking and admission covered! Food is really expensive (in my opinion) and so are the rides, however most of the attractions are free.
We absolutely love the Kroger Birds of the World show--for us it's a must-do! Love the butterfly garden too, we went to that last year. My only other "musts" are a Fletcher's corny dog (HAS to be Fletcher's) and some fried dessert (funnel cake and fried cheesecake are my favorites so far). Hubby loves the petting zoo and we usually stroll through the automotive buildings.
We have always parked for $5 but I couldn't tell you where it is.

All of this. I think we are going to try and go Sunday but it depends on how much we get done around the house Saturday. And we normally pay $5-10 for parking but like Stephaine, couldn't tell you where but it's not too far of a walk.
This is seriously the ONLY reason I want to go to the fair. Well and I heard they have fried cookie dough. I am in LOVE with cookie dough.
BTW--a tip for those going this weekend.
We arrived early (around 10:30am) and parked for free on the street on Exposition Avenue. You simply walk up Exposition straight to the entrance. It worked great. However, we did leave in the afternoon--not sure if you would want to do this after dark.
