Can we talk sports for a minute?

Guys, I can't tell you how excited I am that the Rangers have a good chance of making it to the World Series again. It is SO awesome. And I love that the Brewers are in contention--I would love it if we played them in the WS!

Also, I'm thrilled about TCU accepting the invitation to join the Big XII. I think it's a great move, and I love that the conference is much more stabilized now so that hopefully we can expand further in the next few years. I love the Big XII, so I'm glad we're all staying put.

And... I love that OU and OSU are kicking serious butt this season. I'm an OU fan first and foremost, but I love seeing both state schools doing so well.

  • How about the NBA?   We are huge fans of the Thunder in our house and we're SO sad that we will be missing games this season.  Stupid NBA, get your sh!t together!

  • Man, forget the NBA. I've been a fan for years and years, and the fact that they can't get their sh!t together is irritating the hell out of me. I have a feeling no ball will be played in 2011 and, if we're lucky, we'll see ball in '12. I'm hoping the rumors that KD is trying to organize an exhibition game in OKC is true, because I'd totally go.

I'm thrilled about OU/OSU, too! It's awesome when both teams are playing well...it's been a whirlwind couple of years in Stillwater with the way our team is playing. Not quite sure people know what to do now that we don't actually suck.

I'm not a big baseball fan [well, I am, but I'm a BoSox fan], but I'm excited to watch the Rangers. That walk-off GS last night was SWEET. I hope they go all the way!

EDIT: OK - that was mean about the NBA. Sorta. As a big fan, I'm super frustrated that both sides can't come to an agreement. They're going to lose more money not playing than what they're arguing over...

  • I am way excited about TCU joining the Big 12!!!!

And I am not too excited about OU just yet because we haven't really played anyone.

Right?!  How badass would that be?  I haven't been able to bring myself to leave LO with anyone else yet (I know that sounds crazy), but I might just have to go to this!

  • I really just follow football I'm happy that both state schools are doing well because I don't root for one or the other specifically so this gives me a chance to cheer for twice as many teams.

I'm also thrilled that Notre Dame has managed to sack up in the last couple of weeks! Our house is much more pleasant as a result.

  • I already have an outfit picked for the first Thunder home game and imma be PISSED if I don't get to wear it at all this season. ;)

But seriously, the Thunder had so much momentum coming off the playoffs last season with a lot of support. I'm afraid they will lose some if we skip the whole season.

I'm not one of those OU fans who can still cheer for OSU. I'm not mean about it, and I don't talk shiit (eh, maybe kinda, but it's good hearted, I promise), but I really just want OSU to lose every game.

I'm worried about the bedlam game this year.

This.  MH and I are huge Cards fans and I like the Rangers best of all the AL teams (other than the Royals but lets be honest they suck).

Peeking around the corner to say I am really excited about how well my Wildcats are doing so far this year! Stick out tongue  Oh and I'm glad TCU is joining the Big 12, I think it will be good for everyone.

Just bring LO with you! DS has been going to Thunder games since he was 10 months old, and he loooooooves them. :)

I feel this way about OU. I want them to lose every game but know that won't happen. But at the end of the season, I'm genuinely happy for them if they do well because I don't have a problem with the football team - I have a problem with obnoxious fans.

I'm not worried about Bedlam. If we win, people will be super surprised. If we lose, people won't be surprised. Either way, OSU can't lose in my mind. :P

Me too!!! If both teams win all their games (which I suspect they will) it's going to be the biggest bedlam game EVA!! Yes I wish it was in Norman so we had tickets.

This is me. Just exactly the opposite... especially the italicized part. I want OU to crash and burn... and then to stay there at the very bottom. It won't happen, but I can always hope, right? Stick out tongue

I can't get last this. A YEAR with no break at all? And I'm genuinely curious as to why. Do you think something bad will happen or you just think you'll miss him too much to survive a few hours without him?

I've left him w/my husband before to go to the store, get my hair done, I've even gone out with friends to a movie or the bar a couple of times.

And it's really not that I won't leave him with someone else, there really hasn't been a need to yet.  I'm a SAHM, so there is no need for anyone to watch him during the day.  DH and I are homebodies, we would much rather curl up on the couch and watch a movie than go out, don't need a sitter for that!  And our friends usually come to us.  I don't know why, that's just the way it is, everyone comes here.  On the rare occasions we eat out, we take him with us, that's never been an issue.

Another reason (not a huge reason, but a small part of it) is, since I do SAH and I BF, I never did get into a routine of pumping.  So I don't have a milk stash to leave with a sitter.

We do have plans to have my mom come stay with him this weekend while we go to a friends's bonfire.  And I am a little anxious, but no I don't think I will die without him or anything.  I'm not quite as crazy as I sound.

ETA:  After rereading it, I did make it sound like I have never left his side ever, that's really not the case.

I'd love to see the Cards in the WS!!  They're my second favorite MLB team, my favorite is the Braves....oh how I miss the days of Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Rafael Furcal, John Smoltz, Greg Maddux...those were the good ole days Stick out tongue.  My great grandmother LOVED the Cards--she called them "her boys".  It makes me happy when they do well because I'm a sap like that.

Bedlam will be intense this year.  More so than usual, especially if both teams stay undefeated.

Um, hi. Did we have the same great-grandmother? Mine is the reason I love the Braves, too. She always called them "handsome boys." I miss her.

This makes me smile. My great grandma was the biggest baseball fan I've ever known, she got my mom and my aunt and uncles into it, and I developed a love for it as well. DH doesn't understand my love for baseball--I tell him it's genetic Stick out tongue. One of my favorite stories about my great grandma is the time she got pulled over for speeding--she was on her way to a Cardinals game and told the officer she'd appreciate it if he'd hurry up with her ticket so she could get to her boys on time. My mom loves telling that story and I never get tired of hearing it, I miss her so much.
