Re: how about an afternoon randoms thread?
We might hit Koetsier's greenhouse on Saturday. Not sure. Are there any other pumpkin patch/fall fun places we should check out? Maybe one open on Sunday.
Today while Henry and I were out and about, I realized we were dressed in a Team Hoektastic uniform. We were both wearing jeans, blue t-shirts and gray zip-up sweatshirts. I need to pay more attention so this doesn't happen again.
Can I join Team Hoektastic?
Cleaning and organizing and rearranging the house for me this weekend. I know how to have a good time.
Also working on a PP presentation and trying not to get to addicted to "Dowton Abbey" on Netflix.
Oh, Hoek... there have been so many times that the kids and I have Unintentionally matched. Here's a good one:
This was at my cousins' wedding, which was out of town. This means that I had to spend time picking and packing both my dress and Willa's. And the whole time, my unconscious is giggling at me, just waiting until I realized that we were wearing Mommy and Me outfits. That happened at the reception, 6 hours after getting dressed in the first place. Oye. I think Willa knew already. I mean, look at her face.
Haha! Of course! I will now consider anyone wearing jeans, blue t-shirt and a gray zip-up sweatshirt to be on Team Hoektastic.
Seriously, you are hilarious, GRSP! Everything that makes me LOL right now is much appreciated, so thank you!
So...I signed up to volunteer at the grand opening of the brand new civil rights center at school next week and will have to miss a class for my shift. I'm sort of freaking out about missing one class. I delayed signing up, hoping they would get enough volunteers and my conscience would stop prickling. No luck. I'm consoling myself by saying this was something that I couldn't do next year or next semester or at any future time. It's happening once, while I'm in school there. And there are lots of VIPs expected (like the governor and maybe the US Atty General).
GRsp - That smile is priceless!! I love it.
That is a really nice picture of your family, by the way!
I am mostly concerned that I am dressing like a toddler boy. Something is really wrong with that. At least our shoes didn't match. I was wearing metallic ballet flats. And my zip-up sweatshirt was a little feminine/stylish. Still, time to reassess the wardrobe.
Hmm this weekend. I am watching a bunch of kids for a friends wedding. Should be interesting since I am the only one that is available to watch them for about 7 hours.
Also on Sat, I have to get an oil change.
Sunday is relax, run errands, and a nap
Watching the Tigers win the next 3 games is on the agenda for the weekend. :-)
Friday I've got plans with a BFF that is visiting for the weekend. Saturday we were going to go tailgating for MSU/UM, but I think we decided today we would prefer to stay home. Andy is brewing instead. Sunday Andy is running the relay GR Marathon, so the dog(s) and I will be spectators.
I am so disappointed. Wah.
The interview went really well, but...the girl walking out of the interview room while I was walking in will probably get the job. She is already in that department, only part time.
Plus the hiring manager mentioned on more than one occasion that my manager has told him he doesn't want to let me go. And that if I do get the job, I won't be able to start for x amount of weeks.
Ugh, I could cry. So disappointed!!!
LOL this happens all the time with me and T. Too funny!
Thank you SO MUCH for the laugh. Much needed right now.
DP - I think your volunteer opportunity sounds awesome, so I wouldn't worry too much about missing a class. But this is coming from someone who attended maybe 50% of the classes in college that weren't in my field of study, so maybe I'm just a fan of skipping. And obviously undergrad is nothing like law school. But I bet you'll be alright.
I'm sorry D&M! I'm glad the interview went well though, and I wouldn't stress until you actually hear who got the job.
Haha! It's a great shot - you have a beautiful family!
That was totally me too! I said last week that I can't believe the semester is half over and I've attended every class so far.
It's shocking how responsible I've become...
A couple of my classmates have missed a class or two for non-school sanctioned reasons and I think the professors who are teaching that day might have their classes recorded. Also, the professor whose class I'm missing is totally understanding and sweet, and posts her power points after class, so I'm sure it won't be the end of the world.
