i dont mean to be lame but...

why don't people put spoilers in the subject line?! i hadn't watched the new ringer and was not expecting when i clicked on the thread to be informed of a big spoiler.

i learned my lesson fast on this board about the importance of spoilers. just saying...it's annoying.

Re: i dont mean to be lame but...

  • Wow. That was a big spoiler! Sorry. I posted in that thread and it didn't even occur to me- I watched it last night and didn't go into that post until afterward. Even though it didn't say spoiler I am always so careful! I try not to enter posts about shows I watch if I am not current just in case ... Sad
  • the rule at the top of the board says to write spoiler or the date of the episode.

I think it is a good one, then you know if you have seen it.

also, I am pretty sure our Ringer episodes air later in the week than CW.

  • Oh! Wait. I just re-read the post. The OP didn't need a spoiler warning because she didn't have any spoilers in her post. The spoilers were in the thread.

Anyway, again, I am just really careful after getting upset on these boards over stuff like this many many times.

  • My general rule is that if a post shows up about a show that I have not yet watched during the week, I don't open the post until after I watch the show. Most people do a really good job with warning about spoilers, but once in a while, something slips through.

no, i totally agree- it's not a huge deal...seriously. i am usually good at making myself NOT click for the same "just in case" but with the ringer one i did. lesson learned! :)

where are you that they air later?

  • Labeling "spoilers" is pointless if we dont know which episode! I always appreciate when people put the episode date in the title. There are many shows for which I DVR and might be behind. I then know not to open that one. Because I know there could be spoilers. In fact, I always assume there will be.
  • I'm the OP of the Ringer post.  I'm sort of new to the board and don't post much so it slipped my mind to post the date and possible spoilers.  I apologize for upsetting anyone but didn't intend for any spoilers to show up in the thread.

    I'm the exact same way.

    Yup.

If it's Friday morning and there's a new Grey's post, I assume it's related to last night's episode. Sometimes it's not, but if I don't want to read a spoiler, I don't open a post until I'm all caught up.

  • The OP didn't post a spoiler, someone else did so she didn't have to put that in the title.

I agree with you, but more often than not it's likely that spoilers will be posted at some point during the conversation and you can't assume otherwise.

I agree.  Typically if I start a post and I don't spoil anything, I assume someone else will just in the course of the discussion, so I add *spoilers possible or probable* to the title.

That is a good assumption on this board. If there aren't spoilers in the OP, there typically will be after a couple of posts.
