All right, ladies, what's going on this week?
AW: I met Margaret Holt, Standards Editor of the Chicago Tribune with my newspaper staff on Wednesday. We were invited to the event where she was speaking
There was only one other high school group there!
FFFC: Yesterday, I subbed for a teacher who was out ill (yet again) in a class where I am qualified to teach. The kids and I had a great time, and they all said they had fun AND learned something. I think they had forgotten that it was possible to enjoy music and learn about it simultaneously. And I made sure my principal knew all of that. I may gain another music group next year.

Re: FFFCs and AWs
FFFC: H called this morning - told me his deployment/training got pushed up like, six weeks, which means he'll miss Christmas and JJ's birthday, and he'll leave sooner than I thought he would. I know it's beyond his control, but I'm so not happy about it right now.
AW: I'm in trip planning mode right now for next year. Hawaii, Vegas, South Carolina and possibly Philadelphia are in the works for next year, and I'm so stoked. When H gets back, we're planning a trip to Europe [if I can swing the time off and the move goes well]. I should probably work on getting my passport...
So sorry, Renee. That sounds awful.
Hope you get to talk to him soon!
AW: DH texted me this morning and said, "Hey, I just found out that Sprint offers a discount to employees of my company." I was like, "Whaaaaat?" I had never heard of it! So I signed onto his employee website, and sure enough! We've had Sprint for 2 years and were planning on extending our contract anyway (and getting iPhones in a few months). So I called them, and we'll be able to start getting almost $40 off our bill each month! I also saw there was a discount I didn't know about for our homeowner's insurance, so I emailed them for info too... crossing fingers.
FFFC: We've been on a bit of a spending freeze this month. I feel like such a spoiled brat, but I want to go shopping SO BAD, and I want to go to a nice restaurant SO BAD. Trying really hard to be good, but it really sucks. :
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
AW: This weekend is going to be awesome! Double date night tonight which consists of homemade tacos for dinner and playing some Apples to Apples (I LOVE board games
). Race for the Cure tomorrow morning (and I'm feeling SO motivated about it! I've done a bit of speedwork so I'm curious if that'll show up on my time. It's crazy how eye-opening speedwork is, your body can do so much more than you think it can. Plus, I drove the course the other day since it's right by my work and there's a lovely downhill right at the end.) And we're going to the Taylor Swift concert tomorrow night!!
Another AW: A perfect second job opportunity came along: answering the math tutor hotline for a local school district 1.5 hours a night. Which is absolutely perfect for my schedule. And the pay is awesome. And I would be able to study between phone calls. And it'll look great on my resume. And it'll help me brush up on some high school math. I am praying it all works out (and that tutoring over the phone isn't too difficult)!

FFFC: I have been on a major spending rampage because I want all new pots and pans, cookie sheets, etc etc for our kitchen. This is stuff I have had since I moved out on my own (at 20). We didn't register for kitchen stuff when we got married so I want all brand new stuff NOW. Also, we bought a new couch, dining room table, and tv stand....I just lost track of reality and spent so much money between October 1st and October 4th that by the 6th we had to start using our cc. YIKES!!
AW: Our cabinets were installed yesterday. I was upset last night so our contractor came by to discuss some stuff with us. I was extremely nervous about a few things that as it turns out, are just going to be small things to fix. Our subcontractor got me so excited - this was his first time to see them and he was playing with our pantry and said "This is so cool. I need pictures of this because I have a few clients that will want to do something like this when they redo their kitchen..." and "This was a really creative idea. I know it cost more than you think it should have but it is really, really cool. I don't know how you come up with this stuff." Considering I work in the LEAST creative profession ever, it makes me feel good that I have one or two creative bones in my body.
FFFC: There have been several days where I just haven't gotten around to cleaning the house or picking up at all. It looks like a total wreck, so I start cleaning like a mad woman about an hour before H gets home to make it look like I've had a really busy day. Every time I do this, he goes on and on about how good the house looks. I tell him that I'd spent a lot of time on it, so thank you. Little does he know I spent the day playing in the yard, going on a bike ride with B, making a Target run, reading, coloring, and taking a two hour nap.
AW: I've been hit on twice in the past two weeks just randomly out in public. (Once at Chick Fil A and the other at a restaurant with my mom last night). I am loving it. I told H about one of the instances and he sent me flowers that said "I think you're hot" on the message. An ego boost + flowers = awesome.
No FFFCs for me (without me sounding like a total witch) or AWs, really, but I do want to say that I'm so sorry a) that OSUWifey's DH is going to have to leave early and miss important holidays (that super-sucks!) and b) Renee missed out QT time with her DH! That really makes me sad!! And I don't even know you! I mean, I miss my DH when he's gone hunting for the weekend, so I can't even imagine going months with so little communication.
@Renee - I hope you get extra time soon to make up for the shortage this week!
@OSUWifey - I hope deployment ppl discover a mistake somewhere and his deployment gets pushed off until after the holidays!
::hugs::
