Sweetest Day is tomorrow

Re: Sweetest Day is tomorrow

  • Completely forgot about this.  They don't acknowledge the holiday in Dallas.

  • We usually don't celebrate... In fact, we've never celebrated sweetest day... DH would probably call it a "hallmark holiday" lol

  • Nope. Didn't even know about it. We don't really celebrate Valentines Day either.

  • The first year we were dating, DH got me a small sweetest day present.  I thanked him of course, but told him I thought the holiday was pretty silly and celebrating really wasn't necessary.  So we haven't done it since.
  • Can someone explain what sweetest day is please?  We don't do that here in Houston. :)

  • I got DH a card because I thought it was really funny but that's about it.

Its the fall version of Valentine's Day.  Its celebrated mainly in the north I believe.

  • Sometimes I'll get a card and flowers, it's a 50-50 chance.  I usually buy a card and DH's favorite candy bar or something.  But, if I forgot and DH didn't do anything, it wouldn't be a big deal!

Thanks!  Since I'll be up there, maybe I'll get my guy a little something.

  • Didn't even realize it was tomorrow.  DH & I do not celebrate this hallmark holiday.

    That's cute!

DH & I don't do Sweetest Day!  I just heard about it on the radio this morning - that's the only reason why I know.

  • Nope, its just a made up holiday.  We do have an anniversery party to go to though, so I will get to dress-up and go out so I am kind of excited about that.

  • I think we've done cards in the past, but I forgot about it this year.  I haven't bought him anything and won't be sad if he forgets too.
  • I used to totally support this "holiday," I mean you should always take time to celebrate the people you love, but I think I've let it go by the wayside over the last few years.  I don't think FI and I celebrated it last year, and we probably won't this year.  I am fairly certain he probably doesn't even know it's coming.

  • When we first started dating we did, but after 7 years, it became a "Hallmark Holiday" haha which I am alright with.

I will probably get him a card because that is like my favorite thing to shop for! There are always a lot of options

  • We don't do anything.  DH considers this a "Hallmark Holiday" but I may get a "Happy Sweetest Day Honey" at some point during the day. lol

  • To me it's a Hallmark Holiday.  We just exchange cards & get on with our day.
