I survived...

The running of the brides this morning!!  I went as a member of a team for a friend of mine.  Holy crap was it crazy and fun-ish!  The bride didn't find her dress but we all had a great time.  Anyone else tried it before?

Re: I survived...

  • That's how I got my dress ($249!).  It was a lot of fun - and total mayhem when the doors first opened.  I think if you go with the assumption that you or the bride may not find the dream dress but that it's a good opportunity to try on a lot of dresses (and make fun of some really ugly ones), it's a good time.

  • I went with my mom and sister right after I got engaged because we were doing a girl's day in DC.  At that point I had not even tried on dresses yet so I was not set to find anything and didn't try too hard.  We had no strategy so I maybe tried on one dress that was 20 sizes too big for me.  But it was a fun experience!

  • I could never.  It would stress me out so much.  I dont do well in crowds and would probably have an anxiety attack in a crazy bridezilla crowd.

I love that Friends episode though, I love that they had whistles.

Agh the whistles! A bunch of groups had whistles and In couldn't understnad why! We absolutely had a great time and went just to have fun, no pressure! We got a picture with a particularly hideous gown too. Lace long sleeves and awful beading, it was a mess! I happy to hear that several people had successful runnings!
