I found
these jeans at AE for $17 on clearance (there was a 1/2 off code too). They came today and the fit it AMAMZING from the knee up. They are a little more flarey than I would usually wear (almost to the point I would call them bell bottoms) but may consider keeping if I could find the right shoe. They are also way too long. A heel might make it ok, but it would have to be inexpensive and casual. Any ideas or should I just give up the amazing fit because this is not the 70s? FWIW- this is the first pair of jeans that I have liked the fit of since C was born.

Blog
16 read! my read shelf:
I considered looking for something like the sandals in the picture, but going into winter I think I am going to need something warmer. I will be googling espadrilles though- I have no idea what they are.
Where did those of you with fashion sense learn this stuff?
I must suck at fashion, what's an espadrille??
Love the jeans, I don't think they are too flarey - I'd wear them with some kind of wicked boot.
I basically have no fashion sense, but this is what I was picturing. They could be casual enough for every day wear, but would work good with the cold weather coming.
Espadrilles are those summer shoes with fabric uppers and straw bottoms, like this:
Of course here are flat ones, closed toe ones, wedge ones like this, etc. I think with jeans that wide you have to go with a chunkier shoe like a wedge or a platform.
Or flats. you'd have to get them shortened probably but I love my wider leg jeans with ballet flats. Could be that I simply can't wear heels though
OK- hunting for a chunky, heeled, casual boot. I came across these:
Of course I would have to find something similar for about $100 less.
Unpopular opinion here....are they really as flared as the picture? If so, I'd personally take them back and keep looking. If they're not that flared then I would keep them.
I have a pair that although they fit really well, every time I put them on, I laugh because I look like I'm going to a 70's theme day. If that will be you, return them while you still can!
What kind of jeans are you looking for? Is it normally an issue with length, waist, thighs? I have searched for jeans for years and finally found a couple of awesome pairs. I really really like my jeans from Bootheel Trading Company (found them at Dillard's, the lower rise style).
Then I have no suggestions. I have lots of hips and thighs and a smaller waist (in comparison) so I have no ideas for you! The only thing I can relate to is trying to find a pair for a good price. If these fit, they're in your budget, and not ridiculous looking (which I would guess they're not since you're thinking of keeping them), then I would keep them and make them work!
