Who wears Uggs?

I'm about to jump on the train.

I've never really liked them...in fact I used to HATE them. But, the more I think about it, they might be nice to have this winter for taking Lola outside and running errands with the baby. I feel like I'd get a lot of use out of them, especially since I won't be working and don't have a need for dressy boots on a daily basis.

I still don't love them and would prefer my leather boots for the sake of fashion, but Uggs just seem like they'd be great for warmth and comfort when I'm not doing anything important.

These are the ones I'm thinking about buying:

What do you usually wear in the winter for a casual shoe?

Re: Who wears Uggs?

  • I had a pair of black ones in college. My grandparents got them for me for Christmas one year, and I didn't have to heart to tell them how much I hated Uggs. I ended up getting a lot of use out of them, though. They were great for walking around campus, so I think they'd be great for errand-running, too.

  • I absolutely love them. Since I work in such a casual office thats pretty much all I wear all winter long. I don't know how to add pictures yet so I attached the link of the ones I love!

The H got me these in black last year for my birthday.

  • Usually my casual shoe is flip flops, but once it gets colder, I have a pair of chucks and a pair of nikes. I wanted to start looking cuter on the regular (I'm a jeans and tees kind of gal) so I'm getting into boots and such.

I just recently started the hunt for knit boots like those too! I thought I was super late on the Ugg train, but I've seen a few threads around talking about the same thing. I've heard they are really warm and cozy. I say go for it! I found some at TJMaxx so I got them (obvs cheaper than ugg brand). Old Navy has a $40 pair but they aren't as long. They are the mid calf height. I need to buy some skinnies and long leggings though, since my jeans are all bootcut and make the boots look bulky.

  • My friend loves Uggs so much, she wore the Bailey Button Triplet (in white) on her wedding day! All of us bridesmaids wore the regular ones in black.
  • I need a pair.  I've only had fake-Uggs.  This might be the year...

I bought the fake ones last year (from Target) for my friends wedding. They were ok for the one day, but I tried wearing them after that and they just weren't comfortable enough.

  • I do, I do!  I actually have 3 pairs...umm yeah.  Anyway, I get SO much use out of them because winter is so long here, haha.  They were perfect last year because they were easy to slip on and get out the door with him.  They are not the cutest things but I just wear them under my pants, so you really can't even see them, and I am not that fashionable anyway. :)
  • I've worn them for the last 8 years.  They're the warmest, comfiest shoe for the winter.  I have the talls in the sand, chocolate and black.

I like the cardi ones- I think they're cute, but they won't be waterproof (whereas you can treat the suede ones to become waterproof so you can wear them in the snow), so they wouldn't work for me.

If they don't have enough padding under the foot bed for you, but the Ugg inserts for them and double the padding:

  • I have 3 pairs of uggs and love them. I have a knit pair but don't wear them nearly as much as my two pair of suede ones.

  • I have those exact ones you posted.  They are really comfy with jeans.

Thanks for the tip! They're more uncomfortable in the toe area, though.

How are they in the snow? I don't plan on walking through snow banks in them or anything, but have you ever had a problem with your feet getting wet if there's snow on the ground?

    I could say this exactly

I love them. They're cozy and warm and I think they hold up well. But I only like the Classic Cardy which is what you have pictured. I own them in Black, Grey and Plum.

Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...
