WE MADE IT

Oy, rough week.

Got some serious cleaning done last night. If there is one thing I hate it is coming home after work and just sitting around.  Gerren is fine doing that.  I hate it.  That's why I run for god's sake!  But with my feet being out of commission, I went home and SCRUBBED the bedroom.  I moved furniture and dusted and vacuumed.  I dusted.  I threw shlt out.  I got on my hands and knees and cleaned.  I stood on chairs and dusted the ceiling, the french doors, etc.  I also did the guest room.  It was glorious.

And made a new chicken dish that I loved (G, not so much.  Shocker.).

Finished the night with my hubbie and my men on the side: Coach Taylor, Tim Riggins, and the sweet and adorable Mat Sereson.

Happy Friday, ladies, we made it!

Re: WE MADE IT

  • Good work on the cleaning! I'm getting into it this weekend. I challenge you to a duel over Tim Riggins. I didn't want to make time with Matt Saracen until a few seasons in.

It is so grossly humid. I've had it.

Last night we were slugs. We picked up special expensive dental food for Geege, then had leftovers for dinner along with a rustic mushroom tart I made. It was divine. We watched Criminal Minds, Modern Family, CSI and Jersey Shore. I finished my book in bed and went to sleep around 12.

I get my car back today! Huzzah! I haven't driven since Sunday. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be.

When I came in, as I was crossing Market Street, it was raining in the middle of the street on the City Hall side for about 10 feet. That was it. Like visible hard rain, not water coming off of a building or anything. So bizarre.

I've been toting my umbrella around for three days. I left it in the car today, so today it will pour buckets I'm sure. That's how it rolls with me and rain.

Weekend plans: Tonight picking up my car then popping into AC Moore and Michael's for Halloween costume items, then on to DSW praying for miraculously on sale shoes or boots. I should also grocery shop. Saturday sleeping in, exercising, then hausfrauing top to bottom. Same thing on Sunday. Surprise 30th at night for someone in MFD's stringband on Saturday. We won't be there too late. And Sunday I'm making a delectable mushroom herb mac & cheese, a recipe link I received courtesy of one of you fine friends.

  • Yeah, H and I will be doing ALL SORTS of cleaning this weekend, provided I can be awake for more than 4 hours a day. Our house is just one HUGE mess. (Mostly my fault)

Yesterday I napped fro two hours, H made dinner and I watched greys and went right to bed. I am still one tired @ss b!tch.

    Woke up. Still queen.
  • I tried to clean last night but it just didn't happen.  Now I can't WAIT to get home and start scrubbing.  I have to be in the mood to do it but when I am I tear through it.

Hopefully K will answer his phone this afternoon when I call to remind him about the Lasagna.  Otherwise we'll be scrambling for dinner again.

Baby Q gets his six month pics tomorrow and I think we might do dinner with my parents.  Pumpkin patch with the ILs on Sunday.  After this 'family' weekend we get some fun friends weekends so I'm excited to get through to those.

  • Today has to be amazing because it's my birhday!!! Happy 30th! And I came downstairs to a present all wrapped up.  It's in a Nordie box which means it's probably the watch I had my eye on.... but it's a tease because I really can't open it until J get's home. Or can I?.......

Yesterday was great, still swooning over a job offer, talked to my travel agent and finally booked our trip to Hawaii, and did a little reading for class.  Can anyone recommend guidebooks for Maui and Kauai? Watched CSI and Grey's and off to bed.

Today I'm watching TV, getting my nails done, and going out to a fabulous birthday dinner with J.

This weekend it's off to the BIlls / Giants game in the meadowlands!!!!!

    Happy weekend everyone!!!!

Angie, DH and I are planning to go to Hawaii in late April/early May! A friend recommended Maui Revealed: The Ultimate Guidebook - Andrew Doughty. It's under $13 on Amazon. Or anything by Rick Steeves.

    Happy 30th to you.

    Angie-Happy birthday!

  • Oh happy day!  It's Friday.  Last night we finally signed the deal and purchased my dad a new to him, but used truck.  It's a 2001 Toyota Tundra, and for being an older car it runs great.  He loves it.  I am glad it all worked out.  We then went to the Halloween store and purchased more items, luckily we were able to use our friend's discount.

Not much planned for the weekend.  I purchased $5 tix for fandango on Google Offers yesterday, so we might use them to watch Drive.  Then Sunday is our football day.  It will be the Raiders first home game since the passing of Al Davis, so it will be emotional.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  • Angiem- Hapy B-day!  And about the visitor guides, I get mine from GoHawaii.com.  They will mail you a free guide to any of the islands you are planning on visiting.  Let me know how Maui is, I think we're going in March for my big 3-0!

Steph- I found a really cute pair of boots at Ross for $22.99 yesterday.  Most importantly, they are comfortable and don't have a killer heel!

I too need to clean house this weekend!

  • yesterday was errands for most of the day, a few groceries (and new workboots for H that were on sale and came with a $15 gift card!) but of course I wasn't thinking about the fact that H's cousin just had a baby yesterday and I missed her shower, so I should send a gift.... I always make fleece blankets for new babies, but I gotta get the fleece. *facepalm* now I need to make another trip to town. Boo.

The weather is chilly, it's definetely fall here. I need to rake up some leaves for my compost pile ASAP. probably tmw. Still fighting a cold, but the daytime seems to be a lot easier on me than nighttime. I woke up at 1:30ish, 3:00 and 6:00 again last night. Yuck.

So this weekend may be my last deep cleaning chance. Tomorrow is my last day of waitressing I'm a little sad I really love doing it but it's just not worth the pain anymore. Sunday is Pats/Cowboys. ( sorry mo paragraph piston from phone again since our computer crashed and we haven't got a new one yet since that is on the way bottom of the list of sh@t we need to buy)

  • Happy Birthday Angie!! A  birthday AND on a Friday?! Double plus!

I'm so ready for it to be Friday. I've been working 10 hour days and need me some rest. Super excited for this weekend. We're hoping to adopt a kitten. We were supposed to get it tomorrow but it hasn't been neutered yet. So excited for our first pet together!

PS-my crush is still Coach Taylor.

  • Happy Birthday Angie!

This weekend I will be trying to make up for not working or doing any laundry since last week Thursday. Also since we had our driveway done, our house has accumulated a thin coat of dust on everything so I will be wiping down anything I have time to get to.

Today I am making a beef stew with butternut squash and an apple crisp to make up for the fact that it has turned cold and rainy.

JLDSHFKJADSHFKJSDAHFKJLASDHFKJASDFLSDHKJ!!!!  HE IS MY NUMBER ONE CRUSH OF THE WORLD. not even kidding right now, when i read that i got butterflies, like he was really my school boy crush.  I WANT TO LOVE ON HIM.

Right?! I know he's not real, but I think he's so hot I'll overlook his crazy sunglasses. I get giddy every time I hear the opening for FNL.

  • Shauni and Kaz: lay off of Coach Taylor. He's married to me.

Deb: I hit Ross AND Marshall's up last week. Two Marshall's stores in fact. Nothing. Balls!
