One fun fact that you'd like us to know: I have been to Alaska twice!

DH and I are dying to go!  Its on our list to do before we have kids.  Did you take a cruise or just fly there?  How was it??

Re: **LMandCJ**

  • Cruised it twice two different lines, two times of year, once in June of 1997 and once in August of 2010. Alaska is breath taking. I recommend going if you get the chance. We went on a zip line, helicopter ride, train rides, mountain biked, walked the towns.  Sitting on the ship watching the planes land and take off, so much travel there is done by plane. The wildlife is so neat. Over the two trips we saw bald eagles, bear, fish, sea otters, and so much more. In Denali we went rafting.  Hope you get the chance to go ! =)

We were thinking about doing a cruise.  What line did you take?

  • Holland America in 1997

    Celebrity in 2010

I have also been on Princess, and NCL. And in a few months i will be going on  Royal Caribbean.

Cruising is a great way to see places and not have to pack and unpack the whole trip. We love it.

  • We love cruises too!  We have done Royal, Celebrity and Carnival.  For Alaska which line did you like better?

  • We're taking an Alaskan cruise this spring!  I think we're trying to narrow it down between Disney and Princess.

  • I like Celebrity, it has a different atmosphere.  I think it depends on what places you want to go to. In Alaska some of the ships stop in more places than others. I would start by looking at the time of year and what cities you want to go to.

I really wanted to go to Ketchikan again. So we looked for a cruise that went there, Explore what itineraries are out there. If you like a line go on it again, if you really like to cruise, if you can stay on one line you can move up in the lines customer ranks, with each tier you earn little extra things.

    Good Luck planning!

The reason we're thinking Disney is because I've gone on one of their cruises before and it was awesome.  Clean and everyone was super friendly who worked on it.  Food was great too.  Also because it's only a 7 day cruise.  DH thinks he'll get bored if we do a 10 day.

  • We had never even considered Disney.  I may have to look into it from what you told me.
