seriously, ladies and niq. WTF??!
i don't think we've had a successful GTG in about a YEAR. the last one i went to was in mill creek with amanda, avila, snowflake, kb, merilee. i don't remember when that was..but i feel like we're approaching a year.
what is with the commitment issues? i think we've planned about 3 or so since, but they always get cancelled last minute because of attendance.....everyone always shows interest in it..but then backs out....why? is something else coming up more fun? and bailing on nesties is the easy one? it's disappointing.
so here's my clicky.....

(edit: there *was* a small gtg we had in renton with uw, cdmay, and csartini a few months ago......whatever happened to TK gtg's with 8-15 people in attendance?!)

I voted "sorry I didn't want to miss another one"....but technically this is the first one I have been invited to.
I was never actually committed to this one either. I knew that I might not be able to afford it right now, and that's really the reason I didn't commit.....
Instead, tonight I am actually babysitting....where I will make approx $100.....so making money over spending money I didn't even have won out.
there was a special option for you! "i live in e.wa"

Tonight's location didn't work for me, but I was upfront about that since the very beginning. Same with the Renton gtg.
I did bail out on the pottery one last minute due to being sick.
Those are the only 3 I've inquired about since becoming active on this board. There were others but since I wasn't posting much and no one "knew" me, I didn't inquire.
aww crap, i forgot about this one too. i guess it hasn't been *that* bad =P

I've wanted to go. Just with all the doctors appointments and surgery for Edmund, my husband being involved in 2 theater rehearsals and lack of trustworthy childcare it hasn't worked out. Plus I live on the west side of the sound and taking a car on the ferry is a PITA. I hate driving to Bellevue but I do because I want to see you guys and no one wants to come to this side for a GTG.
mgoss, if I am ever able to go to one and you want to go I could always pick you up on the way since I come from Bainbridge.
We could definitely carpool.
He is doing a show at Jewelbox in downtown Poulsbo. It's called Ghostlight tales and its 5 short acts ranging from jack the ripper to tales from the crypt.
i'm an asss. that's my excuse.
i planned on coming for like how long now? a month? and even today i planned to come. but when h told me i could go but at the same time said he'd really like to spend some time with me since he hasn't seen me since a week before vacay really at all because of our schedules, i figured if he wanted me home, i should.
i promise, if nothing else happens i'll be at the next one. no matter what. we should plan another one soon. and it seems like more people would go if it was in seattle. are there really no places that has parking in seattle? when people say seattle, are we talking downtown only?
SS here - and Jenn, you know why. I had a baby. It's tough to get out these days! And I haven't seen DH all week (even though he comes home every day from work), and my dad and sm are visiting this weekend, too.
I want to come to the next one, though! And we GTG ourselves, so I hope that counts enough for now.

You missy are getting you're own GTG!
Well, I'll admit I'm with Jennlin because I was really disappointed yesterday. I made DH take me out and buy me a cocktail (and made him suffer through going to the fabric store!)
I was afraid I was going to have the baby, so I am avoiding making any commitments just in case.
Apparently I need to make commitments, because otherwise this baby is never going to come out!

picks, i love our personal gtg's...but that's besides the point!
i think in the future, gtg's need to be in seattle...near the bus line, near the ferry, and inexpensive......like red robin on the waterfront. would that be hard for everyone to get to?

One of my concerns typically is ample, free parking.....which is lacking in downtown Seattle. Maybe I am the minority with that opinion....but I usually count myself out for Seattle locations where I may have to pay $10-15 just for parking....I would rather go somewhere with free parking and spend $10-15 on drinks.
Knotties did a Northgate gtg that I liked because there was plenty of parking and it was free.....I was happy to drive a little further then have to spend 10+ minutes searching for parking and then having to pay $10+ for it.
I hope you guys don't hate me for that opinion....maybe others agree?
I'm alllll for Seattle....if there is free parking...
There's a pretty cool place I went to on South Lake Union called Citrus (<<clicky). They actually have ALL DAY happy hour on Sundays (their drinks are SUPER yummy and foods good too)! They don't have free parking, but it's pretty cheap....like $3 for 2-3 hrs...and there is lots of it! Maybe that would be a good place?
the free parking thing was an issue when i was on TK (with most of the same people on TN right now)....and that was why we always chose bellevue. but with the demographics of the board changing..i think we have more seattle-centric people than we used to, so gtg's prob have to be shifted to seattle....which i hate about parking, too.
if it's sunday, is that parking free? or is it a parking lot?
palomino in downtown also has free parking in their garage if you go in after 5pm on weekdays, and i think all day on weekends..but i'm not sure exactly.
waterfront is free parking on sundays...

Are you sure it's free on Sundays? ......I feel like a lot of those rules have changed recently....
When I went to Citrus, it was a Friday night, so I only paid until 6pm...which the waitress told me was fine....but then I got a parking ticket...So I don't have faith in "free parking" rules.
The parking lot is not their own, as in they own it. It's like Diamond Parking or something....but it is right around their building.
no, i'm not sure with the new rules....free parking doesn't even start until 8pm now!!
...and i'm lazy to look it up.

I'd go, but generally, the days picked are the ones I can't make and Fridays are hard for me to commit to because I'm never sure when I will get off from work.
We also don't have to go to downtown Seattle. There's plenty of free parking (or cheaper parking) and places for Happy Hour and general food in Ballard, Fremont, Wallingford, Capitol Hill or just a little north of downtown.
Parking is free on Sundays and holidays downtown all day and no limits on how long you park as far as I know.
Seattle parking is free on Sundays http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/parking/freeparkingdays.htm and in case it's useful, here are Seattle's parking rates: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/parking/docs/2011%20Parking%20Rates%20Map_rev.pdf
Personally, i would rather pay a little to park than spend more time driving, but i live farther out than most, so that may be an unpopular opinion... Maybe we need a South Sound GTG...
