Got to ride in the disco bus last night

And not as an EMT. Ugh what a mess. Went to bed with some pain. Woke up at 2:30 and took my meds, headed into the bathroom and felt weak, sick and hot. Yelled for DH and I just was a wreck. He picked me up to take me to bed and I passed out. I came to a few seconds later and seized a little. They thought I may have had a clot since I woke up and it felt like Simone punched me in the calf. All is good on that front. Think just everything threw me for a loop. Definitely not fun. Good thing was DD slept through the whole thing with the dogs barking, the cop, the bus, MIL coming etc. She even slept in late apparently! Skye- I'd you're reading this, I did manage to get my splint redone :P

Re: Got to ride in the disco bus last night

  • Oh goodness! I'm glad that you are feeling better and got the split redone. I hope the rest of your healing goes smoother!

  • Yikes!  What a night!  While I'm sorry you had such a rough night, I'm glad there wasn't a clot or something more serious.

LOL Believe me, that's a nicer way of what I said to DH in the hospital this morning. Also, told him if there is a clot I'm done, no more babies, no more sugeries, I'm not even going to the dentist :) On a grumpy note - woke up and splint shifted. I'm taking matters into my own hands!
  • That must have been scary. I'm glad everything checked out - feel better soon Sad

  • Oh my goodness, I hope you feel better.  That must have been soooo scary for your husband too.  Let me know if you need anything.

  • Oh, that's terrible!  Not exactly how I imagined you getting your way to shift the spint, but - okay!  Geeked

What do they think it was???  That's no good...... you need to be careful!

  • Thanks all. Feeling much better today. Now, I'm just so bored on this beautiful day and want to take a walk or cook. Nerves are starting to work and are zapping me all of the time. Hoping that's healing and not something wrong :) It was definitely scary for both of us. I remember coming too and hearing DH say he was calling 911 and I was thinking I didn't need it, but the first thing out of my mouth was hurry. Freaky. He was good, but I remember looking up as they wheeled me to the bus and he had a second of sadness on his face.

Skye - they think in the end it was a vasal vagal reaction. Due to a combination of trauma to my body and possibly a reaction to the Dilaudid. My blood pressure tanked and once I got to the ED I started having shallow breathing. Will be interesting when my PCP and the surgeon find out about this Embarrassed I have another follow up on Tuesday. In the meantime, I've stopped the Dilaudid, even though ED Dr said I didn't have to and am drinking a LOT of water. Always interesting with me :)

  • You never have a dull moment, do you?! So glad you're doing better now. That must have been so scary.

  • I wondered!!  What are you taking for pain if not Dilaudid?  Something a little less potent?  Is it working?

    SO glad you're feeling better!!!!

Love your ticker! I'm taking Ibuprofen, Tylenol, a baby aspirin for clotting precaution and that's it.  I'd really like to knock down the Ibuprofen for my stomach, but I'll wait a little longer. Besides every once in a while, the pain at the actual site has been minimal. So, that's been good! Now, if I could have avoided the rest!

  • sheesh!!  no kidding!!!
